Re: The future of C2 in 2017
My teenage paddler loves C2, but unfortunately is just too knackered to do a C2 run after K1 and C1, and I'm too time and money poor to take them to events solely for C2.

Re: Restructuring the divisions
Llandysul already run a Div 1 in October, in which they try to accommodate as many people as possible. Given you've identified so few low cost venues, is it not time for the governing body to get involved, negotiate access and the fixing of gate infrastructure to make it easier to run events elsewhe...

Re: Restructuring the divisions
It really is bizarre that we are debating the issues caused by a sport being too popular. My son races slalom because he loves it , he doesnt have Olympic aspirations, but always strives to do the best he can. Surely we should be exploring how to increase opportunities to race. Anyone involved with ...

Re: paddling etiquette
Nice people don't win races. The emphasis on rapid progression exerted in some parts of slalom will be to the detriment of the sport.

Re: Looking After Each Other
Ok so Im not an expert on slalom and have never organised a race, but Ive written tons of risk assessments. The use of the last competitors to provide safety should be used flexibly by organisers and written in the RA, how many are required to stay on, where they should wait and what are the control...

Re: Looking After Each Other
The not staying on at the end of the race is a regular occurrence, the paddlers know who the regular perpetrators are. It seems to be born out of the, win at all costs mentality, which has started to permeate, meaning paddlers are immediately jumping off the water to get their video feedback. The be...

Re: GRANDTULLY DIV 1 AUGUST 27-28 2016
Whole thing handled very poorly. It was pretty obvious there were reasons for the organisers putting in an extra process, thanks seedy paddler for the explanation. People should have gotten off their high horse and understood what the issue is, rather than send a public rebuke. No one volunteers to ...

Re: Opening dates for entries -Personal Discussion thread
I am guilty (or just organised ), in that I send off slalom entries very early, for 2 reasons, firstly entering slalom is expensive, I am happy to camp in the warmer weather but don't think it benefits me or my child in cold weather, also you're often talking of a 4+ hour drive on a Friday evening a...

Re: Canoe England Talent Programme
No hidden agenda. I just wonder if something could be done to increase the coaching base, as it stands the young people who currently benefit from the best coaching and facilities in their clubs are those who also progress on the talent programmes. Would the money be better spent supporting all coac...

Canoe England Talent Programme
I realise I may be dropping a grenade with this opinion, but does anyone else have concerns about the impact of the canoe England talent programme on the sport ? Looking at the lists of no doubt very worthy young people who have worked hard to gain a place, I am struck about how few clubs are repres...
