our sport is expensive, but it is fantastic, I am not sure what point you are getting at Neil? How can it be made cheaper? By reducing the number of national ranking events and replacing them with local open events. So having more events like the Abbey Rapids Super Slalom Sundays and Stafford & Sto...

How are the World Ranking points calculated? Seems strange that you get better points for winning the British Open with only 9 international entries than being 7th at the World Championships.

The lower end of the pole should be approximately 20 cm above the water, and the pole must not be put in motion by the water.

I've noticed that the draft selection policy for 2010 still contains a maximum age of 30 for senior team reserves. It is still a draft policy, so what is the process to have this rule removed/discussed before the policy becomes final?

If ranked using 400 points they are likely to have catch up issues. If they are likely to be catching people up at the lower end of their division (so they are at least 30 seconds per run faster), then they definitely should not be demoted to a lower division. Also they are even more likely be catc...

why should someone who has paid their entry fees+fuel+accomodation costs be demoted to allow someone who has been to 2 events stay up just not fair As is explained in the yearbook, “the divisional system (…) ensures that there is a standard of competition suitable for competitors of all degrees of ...

I agree with oldandslow. Offering protection only for "unforeseen" circumstances is not enough. In particular in the premier division it can be difficult for people to attend enough races as there are only 9 each year. There are people who work weekends or have children, etc. As they know in advanc...

the comma is the important bit You still need an extra comma for it to change the meaning. It should be "Competitors promoted, or granted ranking status after 31st July, are designated 'Short Season'" In 2008 it was "Competitors promoted during a season, or granted ranking status after 30th June ar...

Don't you compare the non-counting run of the C2 with the non-counting runs of the K1 men?

there is nothing that can be done about "inappropriate" paddlers been in the division I don't think that's true. Over the years there have been enough foreign paddlers who have moved to Britain and have been ranked straight into Prem without having to go through the divisions. I don't know what the...

I would guess that there would be an increase in entries for events on rough water, and a decrease in entries for events on easy/flat water, as paddlers would no longer have to race at them. You might be right if you take the current slalom competitors. However, I think any decrease in entries on f...
