I would like to highlight that I am still receiving entries for this event despite various postings advising that the event was cancelled--Prem race 8/div 1 is now to be held at Abbey Rapids and hosted by Tees Tigers, the entries are incorrect and the cheques made payable to the wrong club so there...

Hi everyone, as seen posted on the front page, the Tees Barrage event has been cancelled due to renovation of the course--I believe that the delay in commencing the work has been due to procedural complications during which time Tees Active, took over the management of the course. Thus far I have r...

:D In the face of adversity the Tees Tigers triumphed this weekend. Not only did they provide at very short notice an alternative Div 4 yesterday but also ran a double Div 2/3 today up at Abbey Rapids, everything from the course to the catering was excellent and I have heard many glowing comments f...

:D :D Can you believe it the North East was also warm and dry!! Only the Washburn event can rival the amount of rain and I don't think any other event was as windy--umberellas were of no use whatsoever!!! Well done to all those who played an active part over the weekend in very difficult conditions...

Whilst the course is designed for a certain level of paddler you must remember that there is no requirement for that paddler to have done any paddling other than slalom--so potentially you have a number of paddlers even in premier and div 1 who have never passed a paddlepower or star test and dont ...

First of all thanks to everyone who helped for their support :D Grandad is correct, the published limit of 100 imposed by the Slalom Committee was met and therefore both Prem and Div 1 entries were closed, the limit was clearly stated in the yearbook. Newly promoted paddlers were given entries in a...

Hi Graeme, I was not aware of the meeting that you refer to which was held more than two years ago, my son at that time had only recently become involved with canoe slalom and we, as parents, were raw novices, barely capable of completing the entry cards!! I don't think this is about what has happe...

Cleveland Canoe Club are very fortunate in that they have permanent gates(although difficult to move!) reliable water, regular coaching support for lower division paddlers (Div4-1, Darren Cresser)

At Cleveland Canoe Club we have a variable number of 'new' juniors, as a direct result of Darren Cresser gaining the position of 'club coach' we have seen a number of young paddlers attending on a regular basis who seem to be keen to continue in the discipline of Slalom.

The North East region have 6 slalom kayaks for use between 15-20 clubs--It is obvious that this number is inadequate to meet the demands of the region. We need to purchase more-not neccessarily new boats- for use at both club and regional events.

Thought I would add my views of the two Tully weekends: Div1/2 + Pan Celtic--Good water levels, challenging but fair courses resulted in a good weekend's racing. Double Prem weekend--Good technical course Saturday, excellent changes for Sunday's course in view of rising river levels. Many, many tha...
