Re: Grandtully (Tully) Div 2/3 Aug 13/14
We will be running the competition as a Div 2, with a Div 2 course set from the top rather than the middle. The Div 3 element is not viable and we have no Div 3 entrants so far anyway. Any Div 3's can enter as paddle ups.
Without any kind of prejudice one way or the other, I'd be inte...

Re: paddling etiquette
I get it. And many of those who enjoy slalom for a wider variety of reasons, other than simply progressing quickly to the elite, will be turned off.Toomuchtooyoung wrote:Nice people don't win races. The emphasis on rapid progression exerted in some parts of slalom will be to the detriment of the sport.

That means you get a one-shot deal at the whole course with nobody else getting in your way - bit like your runs actually, unless you are as slow as me. Unlike free practice, which is when everybody gangs up on the hard/interestin...

Re: Looking After Each Other
If they can't do this on flat water then how on earth would they manage to paddle the rougher parts of the course without swimming. I sometimes wonder whether this is just parents being over protective and making excuses so that they can get their offspring off the water more quickly. One couldn't ...

Re: Editorial: Portable Points
The real problem is that too many division 2 races are held on sub-standard water, and with the division getting stronger there should be races on the harder courses available. That's good to know (and there were couple of Div 2 events on the Legacy course in 2014) but it's worrying to see some of ...

Re: Wark (Tynedale) div 2/3/open 4/5/April
Last year confirmed one of the most pleasant campsite experiences I've had within the UK when paddling. Beautifully kept sports ground with all facilities, including onsite bar, on tap. Small but good hardstanding car park, though watch out for entrance gate/posts when reversing. Quiet village over ...
