Baldock and District Canoe Club have a large K1 and a small K1 for people to borrow. Both are brand new so should be in good condition (thanks Cool Blue Canoes). They were obtained from funds from a Local Organisation (Letchworth Heritage Foundation). We also have an old K1 (large), an old C2 (a si...

I like the idea if it is not too much of a problem for the organisers.

The Nene system works well from the competitors end.

PS Munchkin You could also try Shepperton 28/29 June - hopefully will be somewhat flatter than for the div 1! We don't normally allow "spectators" on the bridge or island but I'm sure the organiser would make an exception under the circumstances. Another option could be the Nene - the course is fai...

Ta very muchly people. Orton Mere and Harefield slaloms are both on the list of events to take them along to. Might need to borrow your lungs though CP! "even at the blistering pace that you do in your C2!" - we are working on that. By the time <ADVERT>Orton Mere in Peterborough on JULY 12th and 13...

Thanks, I would mean following or paddling along side the competitior shouting directions. We would not be physically touching them or their kit just giving verbal directions.

This is not in the right section but I guess that there probably isn't one for this...! I know that many Div 3/4 events will allow/ turn a blind eye to youngsters being escorted nervously around the course as they try and get used to moving water and slalom at the same time (which I know is very mu...

Thanks for organising the event guys - it appeared to go very smoothly and even ahead of schedule! Please thank the ladies and guys providing the food - the general consensus from my lot is that it is the best food they have had at a slalom :-) We are thinking of starting our very own Michelin awar...

I love the question "If we fancied having a go at canoe slalom, what exactly would we have to be good at? Apart from swimming, naturally."

They have clearly seen me compete!

I agree with Spiderman. Thanks to Colin, Kate and crew for a fab weekend. I think I now have a few more club members hooked on slalom, it must be the cakes :-)

How is the weir looking? Still behaving? Hope so as I have finally managed to get across it in a C1 and stay upright!

See you on Saturday.

I have been thinking about this for a bit this season as I try and work out why I compete and what my aims are (I am never going to be a world champion so I guess I set myself little aims each year as a target). I agree that it can be easy to get to Div 1 for some people and that by getting there q...

Even if you don't do too well, it'll be a good experience and give you more confidence for the smaller events!
Thanks - that is what I am relying on!

Is the Div 1/2 at HPP that difficult? I thought I would give it a go IF I manage to get down HPP upright this weekend but seeing that video has made me think twice.

Well done to everyone :-)
