This would involve the chairman needing to know in advance that they would be chair which I doubt happens often at any event. I also am not convinced that when a genuine mistake is made that the amended and checked results shouldnt reflect this for all paddlers, not just the one that the mistake is...

Indeed at the moment I do not know how we would run lower division races without cards. Some potential answers to "how to run cardless" during the event in the thread above. And all very costly to individual clubs. I cannot see what the issue is with cards at lower divisions. The card's at events t...

Given the other posts regarding how much extra work late entries are and how the late entry fee doesn't reflect this extra work I am all for putting the late entries into the judging pool before the others. It's difficult for all to compete and judge that includes the other officials and organisers...

Nope, I disagree to an extent.PeterC wrote:I think we are all agreed there needs to be progress and we need to start the elimination of cards
Yes at P/1 level where the timing team have the kit and ability to make it work but as a part-time organiser of lower division events I disagree for those events.

Paul, I agree with you to some extent. Though I do believe that you canassist in a rescue even if you are not hands on. On more than one occassion I have helped someone rescue themselves by being able to talk them into swimming in the right direction towards an eddy where they could then get themse...

Ummm... Interesting points above - I suspect that you would be interested in seeing the jury reports at the end of the Llandysul and Serpents Tail events... I can categorically state that a paddler was given the scare of their life at Llandysul for failing to stay on the water for safety. They had ...

As a club (non-slalom really) we have a fleet of slalom boats for anyone in the club to use at whatever level they are in in the sport. We got the funding from the local Heritage Foundation. There are lots of grants out there for clubs to tap into so club can help the individuals by having boats to...

that would be brilliant, but instead of at the beginning of their category, what about at the beginning of first runs and the end of second as a group, we can throw rotten veg at them or something... Without the rotten fruit and veg (well, the stink of some rivers is bad enough without us adding to...

If you are a Div 1 or Prem paddler - not sure why you would be hedging your bets on the water levels? For Div 1 absolutely - not so likely for Prem given the courses. For me I would not want to travel a long way for no water. Places like Llandysul and Abbey Rapids (great events, lovely people, no w...

There are issues with late entries, anyone got any ideas for sorting it? After seeing the amount of work that has had to be put in at the last few P/1 events due to late entries I think I am going to take the same approach as Dee did at the Shepperton event this year when I do the HPP 1/2/ PC next ...

Actually the motion was amended pre voting as last competitor in the class allows you to protest the first run up to 15 minutes after the end of the second run :( not the intention, and specifically why the motion was changed by the proposer. The MINUTES should be taken as correct, the Agenda is of...

Why should they correspond? The rules for C1W and C1M differ in places so why wouldn't the rules for C1 and C2 differ?carealto wrote:People appear to expect the C1 and C2 rules to correspond, which they don't
They can't be exactly the same given that you will always be talking about 2 people not 1 person...
