Fairnilee 2/3 May26/27

Cheeky request for help   I’ve entered the event but have had a problem with my car today. It’s been towed to a garage and will be fixed next week. I’ve hired a car today and will still be travelling up tomorrow but have no roof rack, so cannot bring my boat. Is there anyone going who co...

Bernie Cole

BERNARD (Bernie) COLE Bernie sadly passed away on Thursday 25 May 2017. Bernie was a former member of Bristol Canoe Club but in the last decade or so paddled under Itchen Valley Canoe Club. Bernie did some Wild Water Racing and the Devizes to Westminster Canoe race but his main discipline was Slalom...

Re: 1985 Washburn Div 2 Video

Thanks for sharing, Les Great quality footage. My first season was '85 but I was spending my time mainly upside down in Novice races. I remember watching a Div 2 race on the Treweryn that year. My memory is a bit fuzzy but I recall Div 2 skill levels in that race seeming to be a lot higher t...

Re: Slalom ACM - General

My boss has saved the YE Accounts for the Committee in the ACM folder. He says "Another healthy surplus, and this year, without the benefit of any British Canoeing grant income. Despite the Committee's efforts to reduce our reserves to a more comfortable level; they have increased again." The Balanc...

Re: Another possible rule change proposal for ACM - Fees

Even simpler would be for: Clubs to offer electronic entries. Entry fees to remain unchanged. Clubs to deduct the cost of their transaction fees, when settling their levies from the Event (or claim a refund from the Slalom Committee if no levies are payable). The Slalom Committee to cover the transa...

Re: HPP 1/2 7th & 8th May

The waiting list for division 1 entries is very short after that, so it is possible that with a few people dropping out I may be able to take a few more entries. I am quite happy to do this up to the closing date for the race ... Presumably Dave, after adding the Div 1's from the Waiting List, you ...

Re: Div1 2016 - someone may not be able to count

I may be wrong but I believe that the calculation will include those boats with two paddles and four arms.

If you include 50% of the numbers in the C2 Premier/Division 1 in both years, you do get a 12% decrease.

Re: Editorial: Portable Points

...... Does anyone know which problem Portable Points was intended to solve? The Preamble to the 2014 ACM Motion included: "Portable Points aim to consolidate and promote the extension of paddling opportunities that was introduced with Paddle Up. Paddle Up has encouraged paddlers to race at a highe...

Nice one Nick. I too found the experience disappointing. Unsuccessful for slalom, athletics & tennis tickets in the first round and all of these events unavailable in the second round. Eventually went for weight-lifting! Problem was that by the time I'd got my dates sorted, only the top price ones ...

Looking for a 350 or 360 K1 to suit 80 - 80Kg paddler.

Must be dry and in reasonable condition and a strong (rather than light) construction is preferred.

(Sellers with blue & white stipey boats - don't bother replying).

Willing to pay around £250 - £300.

Cheers !

I have been a (fairly non-active) member of TCC since Kinver Canoe club folded in 2001. My membership lapsed last April and so I don't have any real connection with the Club any more. I haven't been to the site though since the 2006 slalom. The last I heard was that the site was closed so that the ...
