Re: Div 2 Paddlers - Where are you?
I'm not entirely convinced about travelling all the way to Shepperton from Scotland anyway, but it is impossible for me this year because I am playing Polo in Dundee that weekend (div 2 of course). Lee Valley is another conundrum - I really want to paddle there and I could incorporate a visit to my ...

Re: The future of C2 in 2017
Really sorry to hear about George - hope he bounces back OK.
Odd how things come and go, slalom C2 is on the decline, river running OC2 seems to be growing - enough for Silverbirch to launch a new boat anyway:

Re: GET A LIFE
I have bibs, and a couple of entries in. Struggling to plan my year though.
Hang on, I may have more officials entries than ranking entries so far....

Re: Tees Barrage Prem /1 -14/15 October
Not sure if each nation follows the same time plan, but for Scotland the closing date for registration is 31 Jan and Elaine is aiming to have the list published by the middle of Feb.

Re: Online enteries
Is it permitted to refund £17 and make a further £3 charge at the same time without further authorisation from the card holder? Then a subsequent cancellation would be 2 transactions, £14 and £3.
Tracking C2 permutations is something else!

Re: Online enteries
Excellent, Tully div 2 has appeared on the list today so I've entered that too! Minor improvement request - on the 'my entries' screen, obviously the events are in order, is it possible to have the date displayed as well as the day, makes it a one stop shop for updating diaries then (yes, I need a b...

Re: Online enteries
I'm in div 2 in K1 and C1 and not expecting to move up or down any time soon so claim MCD on almost every entry. The exceptions are when I enter an officials race because I only do one class (and don't pay), and if I am going to paddle up in div 1 I will need to remember it doesn't apply there! I ha...

Encouraging adults seems to be the biggest challenge, but I have no ideas for solving it.

Re: GET A LIFE
Fingers crossed I put the right forms in the right envelopes - I checked about 3 times but I'm still paranoid about it!

Re: Boat Weight Rules
I believe a group of 20odd paddlers from the UK flew to Wadi in UAE this last Boxing day for a training camp - I also believe all flew with full length boats I know of two slalom paddlers who are currently training in NZ who flew via London - both took their full length boats Split boats will still...

Re: Boat Weight Rules
I kind of agree with Davids point about boat weight and paddler weight - I'm back to 114kg (thanks Christmas) and my K1 which is a low spec construction, large style boat in XXL sizing is I'm sure well over 11kg, probably nearer 12 after the latest repairs (thanks Symonds Yat), but to me it weighs h...

Re: Boat Weight Rules
On the plus side boats just got a lot cheaper - there is no need to go for top spec, the next or next but one will get you a boat the right weight, until manufacturers realise and add weight to all their specs to maintain the market positioning. I don't think my point is being understood I complete...

Re: K1W 2 & 3 bibs vs Royal Mail
Just a thought, the advice on sending and applying for bibs says to use an A4 envelope and then includes an extra nugget not to use an oversized A4 envelope. There is no such thing as an A4 envelope, A4 is a paper size, the size of envelope that accepts A4 paper without folding is C4. C4 envelopes a...

Re: K1W 2 & 3 bibs vs Royal Mail
I always take mine to the post office and get them to weigh and post it, that way there is no argument. I do the same, but I'm not convinced there can be no argument - if the envelope gets shaken up enough and the bib slides to one end it could easily end up too thick to be classed as a large lette...

Re: Time for a radical rethink?
To be honest I can't work out which bodies provide what kind of funding.
As far as I can tell Sport England manages lottery funding and any club can apply to them directly without needing to involve BC at all?
