A few months ago some low-life got hold of my wife's name and address - nothing else at all. With this information they managed to scam 5 separate lines of credit. It was all fairly easy to sort out (though police statements, phone calls and confirmatory letters were required each time) for one sim...

I live in Lincoln so I'm too stuck for slalom gates on moving water. My hope is that I can use Matlock. I went to Orton Mere at Peterborough but the weir was a nasty stopper with a huge boil and it's unlit. Matlock is lit but obviously controlled by the club. Nevertheless, I believe Matlock is clos...

I'm a DV and did 31 races in the season just finished, primarily because I have a 10 year old I take to Div 3 events. Indeed, I only did 5 races in my division as my priority is the Youf. Competing at Vet would be great for me, but there is no way I'm turning up to "compete" in a one or two man cla...

Hi, not a rant or a rave, but I'd like to know if others have an opinion: I attend many Div 3s with my young son. He's one of the youngest competing, invariably finds the courses challenging and gets quite nervous. His run is very important to him and he often has lots to concentrate on as we invar...

I think I judged at that one too. I did a total of just under 6 hours judging in a day. To top it all, for half of my stint the Section Judge apeared to ignore every single input I made(maybe we should do away with gate jugdes and just have section judges!!). I'm pretty certain I won't be judging t...

I agree with Dee. More events via more doubles will equal greater participation. Today, people need as much flexibility as possible. I also don't understand why more Div 1s is seen as very, very bad for the sport. I can understand the promotion issues, but cannot this be remedied by simply adjustin...

With new pumped, olympic grade, slalom courses coming in Cardiff and London will there not be new venues where everyone will want to race? If so, and if the Slalom Committee wants to cut the number of events regardless, can we expect several current Div 1 venues to be disestablished circa 2010/11? ...

I'm really pleased that the committee will be examining this issue. I feel that some change will be needed or participation will inevitably fall. I'd certainly welcome some more doubles, but I recognise there are many factors to consider. Obviously, if there are some double 2/1s the judging problem...

CP, I wonder if I can check a few facts? Will I be able to camp right by the river and get loads of practise? Will the catering team be providing some of the best food available at a sporting event anywhere? Will the prizes include delicious homemade cakes of a professional standard? Will a brand n...

Is Pearl the lady who has the campsite on the hill with the peacock?? If so, she banned me!! I had the audacity to leave a very wet flysheet drying in the sun until 1100. She tried to charge me another whole days camping fees because you have to be off by 1030. Despite her rudeness, I politely told...
