Hi Michelle, C2W is an aspiration of the ICF and allowed for in their rules. However, there are currently no races where C2W can compete at an international level. I think the thinking is that we need more C1W before C2W becomes a reality. However it is good that GB recognises that C2W does officia...

Even if the divisions were split, what is there to stop Prem K1W competing in Div 3 C1W? Presumably we would have to have yet another rule that said Prem K1W must start in Div 2 C1W. As it happens, there haven't been a large number of Prem K1W competing in Div 3 C1W races this year, apart from at t...

English slalom is set to get its own web page but I need someone to help design and create it. I can supply all the material that needs to be posted but I lack the design flair to make it look exciting as opposed to functional. Are there any volunteers out there with some web page design skills? Ma...

We have two types of Prem races - Classic and Championship format. I think it is fair to say that you shouldn't be awarded a different set of points based on a typical performance purely because of the format of the race. In classic format races, a C1 woman's result is directly compared to the K1 m...

I've interpreted the notes on the start list slightly differently CP. It states 20/10 boats to go through PLUS any ICF World Ranking Series boats that are outside this. As the ICF numbers are low in all classes then I think this guarantees that all ICF entered boats will get to the final. All UK bo...

I think it is probably time to take this discussion offline. The next BCU Slalom Committee meeting is on Saturday 31st October. Hopefully this meeting will sanction the creation of a working party to look in to what can be achieved in terms of automating the ranking system. As already stated by Nic...

Dee - we are going to have to run this 'project' remotely as we have volunteers from both ends of the UK. It might be a true test of whether we can make a system work, as transfer of data either via email or directly entered to a web site is going to be key. Nothing is ever instantaneous. Change ta...

OK - who fancies being part of an 'out of season' project team to come up with some practical options for trialling next season? It would appear that we already have enough computing skills, although we will need to see how far these stretch in terms of detailed knowledge. Lets start small with som...

Hi Glen, If you are offering the committee somewhere to host the ACM that is central to most slalom clubs in England on a date that doesn't clash with a Prem/Div 1 race in September/October 2010 then get in touch - my details are in the yearbook. However, the meeting is primarily for England slalom...

As the event this weekend has now been cancelled and I assume the vast majority will no longer be travelling / cancelling their accommodation, I am proposing to move the meeting to next weekend instead. Can all those who were planning on attending the meeting please confirm that they are OK with th...

Hi Graeme, I'm going to run with it for this year as the venue is already booked and I haven't really got time to rearrange it to an alternative weekend - I actually have a Saturday free for once now the race is on Sunday so gives me more time to actually prepare for the ACM! Next year however I pl...
