Serco are running HPP, they don't own it.
Correct, the Council does!

Re: Lee Valley Div2/Open

In regards to new courses such as LV and Carfiff, when these courses are built (assuming with funding from various sources including canoeing bodies?), are there/should there be terms defined to provide funding (in way of 'free' or lost cost event days) for X number of years for slalom events follo...

Re: Lee Valley Div2/Open

Firstly - the British Open is a Prem and will be held at Lee Valley.

Secondly - if you wanted an event at Lee Valley you could have organised one. The draft calendar and it's various updates have been on the website for months so there was time before the deadline.

Re: British Open Race Progression

The event has turned into a showcase for British Canoeing and its elite paddlers at the expensive of the majority of premier paddlers. It's about time the Slalom Committee started to thing about the premier paddlers who turn up for all the premier races, and not the elite who miss many of the premi...

Re: For Sale Vajda Sting K1 S/M

Cool, I will bring it along for you to have a look at. I will either be on the Jury, judging or timing the Prem on the Olympic Course but if you pop into the control for the Prem event (which will be in the main building at the opposite end from the café) and ask for Andy or Michelle one of us will ...

Re: For Sale Vajda Sting K1 S/M

I have one that I am happy to sell if you are looking for a Sting? It is red and silver. All in good working order but could do with a bit of resin on the nose and tail.

I can take it to the Interclubs/ British Open/ Trwerwyn or Tees?

Re: Another possible rule change proposal for ACM - Fees

I would rather the surplus was used to back new Div 2 events or towards the development of the sport than to subsidise transaction fees for those wanting to pay online!

You should join the timing team - we have a bake-off going on :-) Lots of yummy cakes - no winner just the chance to eat everyone else's cakes!!!

Re: Another possible rule change proposal for ACM - Fees

Hi Dee! I am happy with the proposal and think it is the way to go. However, don't get too prescriptive as to the level of fees that can be charged. As you said, these can be different depending on the system used. When I enter running events they clearly state before I pay what the "admin" charge i...

Re: Restructuring the divisions

Why is the season limited from March to October; what is wrong with November, December, January, February? It is too fecking cold to sit on a riverbank judging/ timing/ coaching/ waiting to paddle in March and October let alone in November - February!!! And it's not too cold when it's snowing in Ma...

Re: Restructuring the divisions

I have received an email from someone who does not want to post on the boards themselves but is following the discussion and asks: I wonder if anyone has considered running Div 1 events along the lines of international event structure? i.e. Preliminary run - where you could have far more entries; S...

Re: Restructuring the divisions

The minimum time you can allow between runs in most classes is 50 seconds. The reason being that the rules state that paddlers must have a minimum gap of 45 seconds. You cannot control the exact moment that a paddler goes over the start line so if you run at 45 seconds intervals every other paddler ...

This has only got worse with paddle ups and will get even worse (in my opinion) with portable points.
