Re: Volunteering for 2019 / 2020 Sorry, and please volunteer
Colin - I did sign up as volunteer but suggested that I would not be attending interviews etc. unless they were providing expenses etc. as LV not exactly a local facility to me.

HPP - Car Parking
Given the following is it possible to get some clarification prior to the Prem/Div 1 Race 22-23/Sep. Will it be Peak or Off Peak parking?, If we pay for the day are we allowed to leave and re-enter on the same fee or do we have to purchase a day parking every visit ? Will the system be running on ar...

Seaton Slalom - Postponement to 6th-7th October
Ladies & Gentlemen As you may be aware Aberdeen Kayak Club has been running a fairly long term project to repair and re-inforce the river banks at the site of the Seaton Slalom training and competition venue. This has involved a lot of fund raising activity and grant/financial applications and suppo...

Re: Boat weights in the past
From memory when we built the boats at school (KW7s, Scorpions and Snipes) we were circa 20kg/boat with a good hand lay-up. I remember as when they introduced roto-moulded river kayaks the roto moulded boats were similar in weight. Professional manufacturers could reduce weight with spray rather tha...

Dee -are you able to relate to Gauge readings on what is possible and what would be a no go then folks may be able to check online Gauges http://www.gaugemap.co.uk/#!Detail/1195/1313 and work out if the event is viable before travelling. Not that I will be travelling (this year )

Re: It's ACM Time Again
Thanks Colin - perhaps a tad pedantic - but can we be clear on when the meeting is? Front page identifies 25th & 26th November, you seem to indicate it will complete in a day (ever hopeful that will be the case). I am sure the official calling notice will detail but thought we may as well broadcast ...

Re: Coping with Numbers in Div 1
However in both cases the event was full or nearly full well in advance. The events clashed with the October school holidays and many people on seeing an event pushing a waiting list will look at an alternative for the weekend or week. Would you give up a potential family holiday in the hope that nu...

Future Looking Good
Well done to all the youngsters paddling in the ECA Junior Cup races at Flattach - lots of medal winning performances as well as many PBs recorded. Go, enjoy, learn, develop - the future is yours to gain.

2018 Calendar
Is it possible to have the Div 1/Prem Event calendar published in Draft form so that Organisers of lower ranked events can try to work out suitable weekends. We often rely on the experience and knowledge of the better Div 1/Prem paddlers to ensure the success of a lower event so avoiding clashes is ...

Re: Washburn July Div 2 & Pan Celtic
Just noticed facebook posting cancelling Washburn release this weekend 24-25 June due to low reservoir levels and operational requirements. Given there is also a fairly dry hot forecast through to the weekend and indications of unsettled weather but no heavy rain currently for Yorkshire - does this ...

Re: Age Group
In my experience, most masters are still 25 in their heads (or 85 when they wake up :D ) so do not admit to anything but 'over 35'. Happy to admit my age just don't get anything for it. Now if we were to set out that the fast guys are the U23 paddlers (young and in their prime) and equate age bandi...

Re: Photos on www.canoeslalom.co.uk
Many Thanks Dee - that was certainly one of the best from the weekend. Father and older brother also featured through the weekend, with brother starting to amass a collection of J10 medals. Their vintage VW campervan also looks really smart but I don't envy them the journey south in that. Alva and S...

ACM Potential Rule Change - Rule B3.3.2
Seem to keep getting an error posting this but will try again: Recent events have seen top level paddlers unable to participate at their events despite entries being submitted in advance of Entry Deadline (UKC11.2) requirements. With limited race schedule available and commitments both within and ou...
