Re: Prudhoe

Thanks to everyone who helped or took part in the event. Results are posted online, but lots of admin still to complete. After heavy rain in the middle of Thursday night the Tyne was unexpectedly high for setting up the course on Friday - sorry we couldn't have it set up for practice as soon as we h...

Re: Why only one olympian?

And what about cycling (OK Great Britain do well in it but..) do we really need all those track events.

note for organisers (including myself) - "After their run a Competitor MUST stay in their boat within a clearly indicated distance from the finish" - rarely have I seen any such notice or indication. Perhaps the Jury Chair should ensure its in place as part of their report? This seems to be a parti...

And what do you do with entry cards for teams? Entry cards go to the divisional compilers, but I don't see anyone listed for teams.

Personally I do not believe in implied promotion. Once you are ranked, you have to get promoted in each class individually, but that may be because I had not thought about it before. Sorry for the incorrect attribution quote Canadian Paddler (and Seedy Paddler). What happened to the rules being as ...

Nick has reworded the website form (http://www.canoeslalom.co.uk/emails/reinstatement.htm), but has asked me whether I can draft something simpler (which reflects the current rule B2.2). I find the following areas are a bit "grey" in Rule 2.2 - does anyone have any thoughts? 1. What happens if the ...

The Peak online shop have 2009 and 2010 cagdecks in some sizes and colours (2009 L/S cagdeck at £69 - but not in Small I think - only XS).

Unfortunately this means the website is wrong. :( The rules are as per year book (plus errata) until changed at teh committe meeting after the ACM. Of course - but it illustrates the need for change or clarification. People appear to expect the C1 and C2 rules to correspond, which they don't, and w...

If you have previously been ranked, or you wish to try a different class, and you are in Division 2 or above in your main class, you must apply for Ranking Status before competing. DO NOT just start again in Division 4. It appears that my argument for harmonisation and clarity has made it to the Ca...

<Rant mode> ....Then we come to the bit about who needs results. All competitors who sent an SAE - none, that's easy! The bib officers for our division and next...that's 7 copies. The slalom accounts manager. The slalom administrator. The SCA slalom treasurer. All ranking list compilers...that's an...

... but it may be that the committee want to look at it from the aspect of the number of 3 event promotions and consider tweaking the div 3 C1W timing "fudge factor"... Not wishing to take anything away from the girls' achievement, I note that the times involved are all on their "home" course (whic...

On the flip side, my daughter and 2 other CR Cats paddlers were div 2 K1, raced div 4 C1 and got promoted. At the next event, they raced div 3 C1 and got 1000 points both days. Last weekend, they entered div 3 C1, and got 1000 points, so they're now div 2 C1. The book says for C1 you need to be "hi...

Canadian Paddler's approach sounds great - if it were universally offered and accepted where appropriate.

Neil - This applied at a div 3/4 event I was at earlier this year - a div 4 entrant on Saturday was really fast and was promoted to div 3. On Sunday he was fastest div 3. He was also a member of the organising club, who knew he would be very fast. But how would you charge such an entrant? Do you ex...

At Oughtibridge at the weekend my daughter (promoted to div 2 on Saturday) got charged on the basis of a Single div 3 entry (£4.25 refund from her double fee) - this was then put towards a div 4 single entry in C1 (with an extra 25p required). As the organisers (presumably) have to hand over money ...
