Congratulations
Congratulations to Joe Clarke for his MBE (Members of the Order of the British Empire) and Esther Matthews for her BEM (Medallist of the Order of the British Empire), both for services to Canoeing in the New Year's Honours...

Re: Congratulations
Showing your age Andy, BEM is The British Empire Medal
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Empire_Medal and https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/s ... system.pdf
the honour was revitalised as teh British Empire Medal.
and to be REALLY picky MBE is 'Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire.'
BUT still well deserved by both, congratulations

All spelling errors are intentional and are there to show new and improved ways of spelling old words. Grammatical errors are due to too many English classes/teachers.

CP - if you want to be fussy you should really write to the Civil Service to complain - the titles given in the original post are as per the published list - https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... -list-2017

Re: Congratulations
I sit corrected, sorry for doubting Andy's veracity and accuracy.
