Well I don't, not really, they're all lovely people and we couldn't manage without them, but ......

Div 2/3 Vets are in the year book as div 2/3s; they race as div 2/3s; their bibs are numerically ordered across all div 2/3s; and then just to confuse us mere mortals they quietly and invisibly divide themselves into two separate divisions of 2 and 3 solely for the purpose of deciding who can get points at which races!

I mean .... what is the point (pun intended)? It's just bonkers; have you all gone senile?



Oh, and by the way, as punishment for being so determined to confuse me, I've tweeked your online entry mechanism again so you now have to select whether you are entering as a Vet 2 or a Vet 3 and thus declare the information that you are trying so hard to hide

I know someone who is studying to be a vet, will she have to go straight from U23 to vet when she graduates?

Given the complexity and buried detail in the rule book, this is entirely possible

Only if you have previously been ranked in div 2, your birthday is on 29 February and you have an r in your name

How do you feel about all the Seniors and Masters who get classified as Vets for championships?

I'm not doing anything special for championships yet, so haven't hit the issue! I only hit the "two ranking divisions" issue with vets because of trying to provide the right information to feed into Simply Slalom from canoeslalomentries.

Having said that - the whole thing does seem a little convoluted and needs simplification - I see that Nick has started a suitable thread.

Vets and C2's complicate things at least C1W have got their act together!
