Nick Penfold's recommendations for year end demotions were discussed and approved by the Slalom Committee at their meeting following the ACM.

Unfortunately. I do not have the details to hand. My recollection was that the demotion levels (in terms of points totals) were very similar to last season.

I do not think that there were any end of season promotions.

bit surprised by some of the demotions. looked at the results and one of the prem demotees was a SS, can anyone explain that? and why weren’t the criteria level across the classes? (were they scared of putting a certain Olympian into div 1…)

:) At this point in time I have no promotion certificates outstanding to issue, If any applications have gone astray please do contact me.

For information: Promotees from 4 to 3 have to send me their promotion slips issued by the organising club.I then send out the appropriate certificate.

All other divisions, the ranking compilers send me notification of a promotion in season I then send out the appropriate certificate.

There are some definite mistakes on the ranking lists.

The ones I spotted were: Thomas Woodhead (SSCC)is ranked in both Div 2 and Div 3. Alex Wood (SSCC Div 3) has no points when he has done at least one or two races. And Kate Kent is demoted when she only got promoted to Prem this season.

Several problems with ages for the juniors. My son is J14 in one category and J12 in another. No doubt it will sort out over the next season.

Thanks to Nick for trying to get the lists up. There were errors in the ranking lists given out at the ACM, (such as Ian Masters C1 club being Proteus rather than the paddler below. Probably better for the club reputation anyway!)

Hopefully Jim/Ranking list compliers will be checking again before they go in the yearbook

Those that fall below the cut off point and are short season are not demoted as is the norm.

Are the end of year promotions right on the canoeslalom rankings pages? I didn't think you could get demoted in a short season.

Not sure if the C1 Div 2 rankings are right either, some people seem to have gone from 1/2 way down to the top, without them competing in a race since the last results were published.

And I am sure that some of the events that full points were awarded were not quorate!

Just a thought, but now the old table has gone we have nothing to check against.

What we need is a central rankings computer system that takes all the results in a standard format :)

My ranking is right :p
