Does anyone know why ski slalom for instance can have entries from each country - the Swiss apparently chose not to enter in the women's slalom but could have sent youngsters for the experience - but in canoe slalom each country has to win its place(s)?
Is this how eddie the eagle got in?
I know that each country can send at least one athelete, - (remember the African 'swimmer'?) but it seems in the winter olympics, they can send loads in each sport.
