You may or may not be aware, that British Airways, as of the 6th November, have stopped carrying any Kayaking or Canoe related equipment, including paddles. This may not directly effect you now, but longer term it may affect you, or your children, in the pursuit of their goals, please help us to raise awareness now, and stop it becoming a major issue for our community.

I was allerted to this by the Surfing community who it directly affects in bigger way. They have banned much over sized luggage. Importantly, although for most of our european destinations this isn't a problem, it is for else where, and how long it will be till the other airline companies follow suit or begin to charge a huge handling fee, for the privilege.

Here is a link for you to complain directly to BA themselves, please do so, as the more we can get the more likely it is that they may reverse this decision.

For those of you on Facebook there is also a Group pertition on there, please join, and get all the other disciplines to register their distaste too.

When complaining direct to BA (link above) you have to carry onto further screens and create a user account before you can submit a complaint (keep going until you see 'complaint sent', or something like that..).

Having flown with BA in the last year we were rewarded for our strongly worded complaint with a £75 voucher towards our next flight with them. Unfortunately we can't fly with boats.

On the other hand Virgin who always had a strict no kayak policy have decided to reverse this.
