When attending events, paddlers from different clubs soon get to know each other and function as if they were part of a new, but national canoe club. This forum is far more active than any kayak club forum I know. Recognition that you're part of a club helps to foster a 'give', rather than 'take' attitude, and might help increase judge numbers, and lift sharing. A newsletter could be sent out, which might include postcodes/ tel numbers of paddlers willing to share transport/cost of. It might help encourage paddlers to enter/remain in the sport, particularly if there are few slalom paddlers in their local club. What do people think ?
