At the ACM a Clubs Conference was suggested and was very well received.

The Slalom Committee have arranged this for Saturday 24th February at the National Watersports Centre, Nottingham. All clubs and individuals interested in slalom are welcome to attend. It will be free of charge and lunch will be provided.

We are hoping to have speakers on a number of subjects, including: Top Club status, what it could do for you and how to apply, plus hopefully a club ir 2 present that have already gained this award who can share their experiences, coaching developments, UKCC, Young peoples programme and more, Canoe England and the need for a slalom committee, World Class developments, Running events and the Development plan. If you have any further suggestions they would be greatfully received and we can see what we can do.

This is a great way to pick up lots of valuable information and advice re slalom and meet the committee

So far ony a few clubs have responded positively - if you feel you would like to attend as an indivuidual or as a club repesentative, please contact either myself or Jim Croft.

We look forward to an interesting and informative day.

Anne, also that weekend is a very busy schedule for polo competitions throughout the UK and the Senior and U21's Ladies Polo Squad selections as there are quite a few slalom paddlers involved in polo as well during the winter months this may cut down some of the numbers attending?

It does sound like a good opportunity for some updates, lets hope the BCU/UKCC have agreed a formula by then as some people attended a BCU/UKCC centre update today at Nottingham and came away learning nothing as nothing has been agreed with the UKCC yet.
