Yes we are heading into the longer daylight and once again Aberdeen Kayak Club will host the most northerly slalom in the UK. Seaton Park slalom is due on May 12th & 13th and once again we will have the usual Div 3/4 races along with a serious dose of fun incorporating a handicap challenge (we penalise the good guys to give us mere mortals more of a chance) and options to race in TopoDuo or Open Boat class (and you complain about poles being 15cm above the water!).
Seaton is clearly an excellent starting point with a number of GBR team paddlers and the current BUSA Champion all experiencing their first taste of slalom in the shadows of St Machars Cathedral.
If you want more details please email (address on the website & yearbook) or pm me with your email address and I will send you more details.

Saturday down and still lots to do for Sundays racing.
Fantastic turn out with many new starts into the slalom diciplines. 17 Div 4 K1M with 5 promoted and very tight results, 6 in the Ladies so 2 promoted into the system proper and an excellent result in the C1 so one of the 2 promoted.
6 pairs tried it in the Topo Duo just to prove that slalom can be fun even when the boat is not designed for speed and manouvreability. We even had J8s getting onto the water for their first attempt at a slalom run.
The handicap event was won by the leading Div 3 Lady knocking the Prem and Div 1 paddlers back down the ranking!
the Challeng Shield is taken over the 2 days so still a lot of points to score. Many thanks for the huge turn out from Breadelbane, will you regret not turning it into a weekend and missing teh Sunday points?
All the Best
See y'all in the morning
