Don't forget folks, there is a slalom sprint at HPP on sat evening. £5 entry at control at the top of the hill, should be a giggle!!!

Coaches..........Don't be afraid of a bit of the wet stuff!! you used to paddle so lets see what you are made of, you have your own competition just like you asked for, show your paddlers how its done!

excuse my ignorance, but what is a sprint slalom?

We used to have these at Llangollen at the end of the international race.

I don't think there are any strict rules, but normally the gates are all downstream, there are about 10 gates in all, and often has some really tough moves. The course length is normally less than 50 seconds. The rules for this race are shown on the front page of the canoeslalom.co.uk website
