Come and join the end of season hunt for points or promotion at Sowerby Bridge! Plus we need help eating all the cakes!

I've still got room for plenty of entries.

At the moment the water's low, but it raining nicely outside at the moment. But baring biblical rains the race will be on though.

Full event information can be found at Halifax Canoe Club

Also Sarah and I will be at LLandysul this coming weekend so we can take entries from you there.

Thanks

Les

Just a quick note to say we'll be taking entries up until about 9:30 each day. Those of you who've not got an entry for Town Falls will be most welcome to come along and help with some judging.

Having been to the club tonight I can't promise an 'exciting' water level (which may be good or bad news to you), but hope to have an interesting course anyway

Would that be high or low Les?

Mind you what ever the water level, Sowerby is a great event and the catering is superb :D

Good luck to all that are going, sure you will enjoy it, we always have and have supported the event/catering for many years :;): usually have to go on a diet afterwards :p

Cheers Graeme

That would it's low but prefectly adequate for racing. And it's unlikely to change given the lack of rain forecast (just drizzling.

Never mind the gates will make it interesting!

The HCC website says official practise starts at 0900 and the race begins at 1030. Same for both days.

Actually it's ful runs practice from 9:30, but yes starting at 10:30 each day.

Just come back from the club and unlike certain parts of Wales, we have water - not a great amount , but enough. So if you were due to go to Town Falls and can't stand the thought of a free weekend we can accommodate you at Sowerby!

And 'operation cake' is in full swing down in our kitchen!

Thanks for all the kind comments folks.

We have a selection of lost property:

IR Fleece thermal

Black Peter's Storm waterproof trousers

C-skins grey short sleeved thermal

blue long sleeved thermals (?found in ladies I'm told)

wet suit boots (found in gents)

If they are yours claim them by email lesford@ntlworld.com

Unfortunately the left over cake isn't available to be claimed !
