We have had to take the decision to cancel. The river is too high at the moment and still rising. We don't expect it to drop sufficiently to be able to set a course tomorrow. More rain is forecast for Saturday.

I'd like to take this opportunity to question your wording Dave... Given the agro Matlock was given regarding this...

On the canoe slalom home page there are mixed messages as to postponed and cancelled... which is it and should we be considering a rewording of the rules to clarify that cancelled should just mean the weekend in question and assume that the event is to be re-scheduled at a later date....

at the moment it is cancelled. we have another race in September anyway, and we can't see another opportunity to run it right now.
