We have booked the water on the Friday night and will be running sessions from 5.30 - 6.30, 6.30 - 7.30 and 7.30 - 8.30 initially but will add another session from 8.30-9.30 if there is enough interest. These practice sessions will be after the course has been set for the Saturday.

Friday evening places can be booked by e-mailing pinkstonentries@gmail.com

Please state which slot you would like to book and the names of the paddlers. We appreciate some will be travelling up on Friday and so may prefer 8.30-9.30. If so, please state this when you book so we can put you in that slot if it gets added in.

The cost will be about £5 per session. (we are only looking to cover the cost of the water and so this cost is based on 13 paddlers on the session).

Hi

All water slots for Friday evening are now full. We have 5 slots running for a hour starting at 1630 with the last session from 2030-2130. Please can you report to control to pay the £5 water fee and collect your bib before you get on.

Sorry to all those we couldn't allocate water time to.

If you have booked a water session but find you can no longer use it, please let us know as we have a waiting list.

Apparently the postcode for Pinkston on Canoe Slalom is wrong. The actual post code is G4 9XP.

Thank you to all the paddlers and parents that travelled to Pinkston (Glasgow) to race at the weekend. I hope the paddlers remembered it was Father's Day yesterday.

As anyone involved in running a slalom will know, running an event takes a huge amount of manpower and goodwill. I would like to thank anyone that helped judge (particularly in the rain) and I would particularly like to thank the following -

Our sponsors

Andy Laird from EPD Engineering who supported us with the water fees
Lomo for donating bags etc as prizes
Peak for donating kit bags as prizes

Volunteers

Fiona and Ben Kelly for managing the start list, the Friday night practice sessions and posting regular updates on the CR Cats website
Chris Baillie, Ken Baillie and Jim McPherson who arrived a couple of days before the race and did the prep work and setting up of the site including the timing beams and then did the deconstruction at the end of Sunday.
Neil Caffrey, Johnny Brown, Davy Dickson, Jonny Dickson,Crawford Niven,Sophie Ogilvie and Aidan McAleenan for setting a challenging course
Davy Dickson for the excellent ramp and pole at the start
Peter Curry, Andy Grudinski and the rest of the timing team including the starters and finishers who beaver away behind the scenes
Angela,Sophie and Rebecca Ogilvie for sorting out the prizes and getting all the GB Champs prizes back - it is great to see all the perpetual trophies together with the rich history of previous winners
The catering team in Cafe Chaos - the paninis and bacon and sausage rolls flew out of the door
The marquee team for putting up the marquee and tables and chairs for all the paddlers to sit in
Jim Wallis for providing safety with a smile
And finally a big thank you to all the club paddlers and parents who gave up their weekend to run the race. In particular, the young adults who weren't racing but came and willingly helped.

Although they may not see it here could I also thank our non-slaloming safety volunteers Garry O'Donnell (all day Sat and Sun) and Jamie Crossan (all day Sat) whose presence allowed myself and Ondrej to do officials runs and all manner of things other than stand on the island all weekend, and whose enthusiasm for jumping in meant that I didn't have to very often.

Also thanks to all of the competitors, who after a bit of gentle persuasion managed to keep their boats (almost) neatly stored away from control and the access routes....
