HowshamWeir - Important Safety Notice

Post by djberriman » Thu Jul 07, 2016 8:52 am

Please be aware that a giant hog weed plant has been spotted at the far end of the campsite this week which we were made aware of last night.

This plant is extremely toxic and should not be touched in anyway. The area affected will be fenced off and we ask all visitors to be aware of it and keep well away. The fenced off area should not be entered for ANY reason.

We would also ask given the presence of this plant that all those attending keep out of any uncut areas on site just in case there is any more of it present which has not been identified.

If you see anyone playing in any any cut area please ask them to stop and report the incident to the the organisers.

Please ensure all paddlers under your supervision are informed of the above.

Information will also be given out at the event and notices displayed.

Paddle and play safe.

Certainly is, I am only aware of it due to an incident in a Hull Park recently where a couple of kids played in it and got severe burns.
