Hi there,
Does anyone have any spare lead I can buy? Or knows where I can get some? (besides wondering around building sites!)
Thanks,
Vicky

Just bought 7 kg of lead (150mm by 3 m) for £23 from a builders merchants and will have 5 kg spare.
Local ironmongers and DIY stores have a lightweight substitute for roof flashing - not much use to us.
If anyone is stuck, we are happy to supply (say at cost or less!!). One of our new boats needs 700g, so on that basis this should sort 7 people. Let me know if you want some. We will be at Bala this Saturday and HPP 25th March. Not sure about in between - Blue van (V457 EAN), white dog.

It doesn't have to be lead, fresh water weighs 1kg/litre so if you glass in a plastic drinks bottle filled with water you get the ballast.

Allows you to spread the weight for balance, and easier to remove when you have a repair that increases the boat weight.

Regards
