Re: ACM Discussion Area 1 - Ranking System

• Are rolling points better? At the ACM it was 5.30 before we got round to talking about this just about everyone wanted to go home or were fall asleep. So is this a consideration for next Years ACM How Rolling points could work. Options 1. At end of season your points are carried over to the first ...

Re: Bibs

Sorry I have No news when Bib applications will Open. But there are arrangements to get Bibs to the First Slaloms. Lee Valley Div 1 should have all the Div 1 Bibs. Symonds Yat Div 3/4 Should have all the Bibs also. To receive your Bib at the event you will have needed to fill the paperwork out in ad...

Re: Bibs

You can just turn up and enter in Div4. Fill your details in and you will get a ranking on promotion to Div3.
If you are ranked in K1 then you can start in the devision below your ranking, or apply for ranking to Nick for the Division you prefer.

Re: 6.11.1 Ability to hold two races in one day.

Two races in One Day is the most stupid proposal I have ever seen. For someone that races Two boats, thats 8 timed runs in a Day. Plus practice runs [4] Total 12 Runs, So I used to race Prem in C2/C1 and K1 but only entered all at the same event, once or Twice. 6 timed runs in a day is Hard but 8 to...

Re: 6.11.2 Ability to hold four races in one weekend, two on each day

If this is approved then it will be possible to race on home water 4 times in One weekend. Three 1st positions and promoted to the next division without mastering other courses. So you don't need to travel but all the competition douse. This can not be compared to racing over 3 Day at GB Selection a...

Re: Is it worth copying the ACM motions to the chat line

Definitely useful, except we need to get more people involved, need to get the word out there that this forum exists, share the links on club Facebook sites?? I agree and just started post it on Canoe Slalom Facebook. But then realised we are going to spend most of the ACM talking about VETS. Plast...

Re: Enjoyed the Pan Celtic?

The highlight of this years racing was Pan Celtic Teams at First Cardiff Prem and then Bala div 2/3. Everyone was smiling and had a fantastic time. All the kids loved competing for their home nations and it was a pleasure to see. We even managed to get the Top 3 GB K1W team competing at Cardiff. So ...

Re: Is it worth copying the ACM motions to the chat line

Dee. I've always found these useful and in the past they have allowed a fair amount of pre-ACM chat which has helped get people thinking/understanding the proposals. Fully agree :D Dee Is it possible to have a proposed copy of Next Years Calendar to consider before the meeting or is there a link to ...

Re: Vet getting too many points

Just an observation from last weekend. At Tees Prem on Sat we had 3 paddlers in K1 M.. I came 1st with 2 penalties and got 40 points. We all got 40 points as we came last in the Prem. So I had 2 rubbish runs and didn't deserve any points. If I had gone to my home Slalom at Symonds Yat, one of my pad...

Re: Clashing bib numbers

The Only suggestion I have is at the Judges meeting, make it clear of the problems you could have and ask them to put class or Bib colour clearly on the sheet when there is a change in the race Class. Also ask your Jury to walk the bank and make sure Judges are recording the above along with penalti...

Re: Vet getting too many points

I agree the new System is not working. Its ok for me, I get lots of points at Prem races and not quite as many at Div 1s But when I look at the results there are a lot of paddlers that don't get any points at these races. Entering a Div 1 and racing for 2 Day for No points is rubbish. At Llandysul t...

Re: Officials Ranking Complier needed!

I totally agree with Jim and a Big thank you for doing this for so long. Jim you could be just the person to take this job on. You must have plenty of time sat up there in your little corner of Scotland. How about applying a handicap system to the results like the Stone Winter Slaloms. Then Charge e...

Re: Is it time for some outside the box thinking?

Demotion and the way I see it. If you don't paddle then you need to apply for ranking, otherwise you get taken of the system, this did not happen last year, because of Covid. You then gat another year to paddle in your division. If you enter 1 or so races and don't have enough points to stay in the ...
