Re: Vet getting too many points
I actually agree with Mr Harrett over this  Its poor that at Div P/1 Vet points are dependent on a ranking paddler getting 50s on both runs. Looking through this year's results, most events have enough K1M vets entries to be quorate. The other classes often have at least three entrants. It wo...

Re: 6.2 Veterans Points (75/25)
Disagree with keeping the "status quo", currently the rankings bare no relationship to the degree of difficulty of the race. I managed to do three races this year, 1 div one + 1 div two + 1 div three. My races at Llandysul div one earned me 42 points on both days for four good runs on a fairly techn...

Re: Ironbridge Div2
One of the most enjoyable events I’ve done in ages. Well done to Telford for organising, two excellent challenging courses (but don’t tell Burt). The weather couldn’t have been better

Re: 6.15 Div 1 Practice
I agree with both sides of this discussion. I think allowing plenty of free practise on previous days is great as is limiting practise to one run. I enjoy paddling the day before at a race to maximise water time and remind myself what I'm supposed to be doing. How about erection of a training course...

Re: Rationing Entries
I've been thinking the same. Last season I was only able to enter two events as the rest were all full, doubling up limits the numbers able to enter. Like paddle up entries, people entering a second class should only get that entry confirmed just before the race (I think it's a month) if there is st...

Re: Paul Owen OBE
Pauls background in canoeing came via mainly marathon (that's my perception right or wrong) and is or was heavily involved with Reading CC. I did many a evening time trial in K1's at the old Reading club hut and all were timed and handicapped by Paul long before he joined the BCU. (Sorry it'll alway...

Re: Washburn Division 1 2015 UPDATE
Dear Washburn Organiser Can you tell me if you received an entry from me. Phil Gooding Div1 K1Men Bib 76 Sent all my entries for the rest of the season (Washburn, Tully, Llandysul) in around March as all the early events were full before I received my yearbook. It's looking like I will be unable to ...

Re: Rules over the years....
Stu
Minimum weights, removing reverse gates and end radii were added into the rules in 1985 ready for the 1986 season.
20 sec penalties were removed sometime before 1981 (my first season), and pole heights changed from 15cm to 20cm in 2008
Cheers

Unfortunately no allowance is made to discount slaloms in these business models. If the Tryweryn can get away with causing a world champs (river racing) to be cancelled as they wanted compensating for loss of rafting income. I'm not at all optimistic that we'll get a look in at these shiny new venu...
