Re: Is it worth copying the ACM motions to the chat line

I agree with you Mike re Vets, SUP and plastic boats, I am sorry to those what have made the proposals but none of these motions spark any interest with me or many other paddlers. I have been thinking about the future of slalom and talking to quite a few people about it recently and although I haven...

Re: Is it worth copying the ACM motions to the chat line

Definitely useful, except we need to get more people involved, need to get the word out there that this forum exists, share the links on club Facebook sites??

Re: Enjoyed the Pan Celtic?

Yes we enjoy the pan Celtic how about junior selection and the pan Celtic run alongside each other and div 1/P race on the other day over a weekend?? It would be a struggle to get the younger junior categories running on the same course though??

Re: 6.6 Carry Points Forward for 2022

I have kept quiet so far, however I really do not see the justification to carry points forward. The committee have already committed to some end of season promotions and as long as this happens and in a fairly bold way then we should look forward to a more normal season of slalom racing in 2022 hop...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

Thanks for the answer Colin, just trying to see the facts. I would think that most of the races I have been to this year would have paid their costs, with the exception of the hpp div 2. I am happy to be corrected, the information seems to be out there somewhere? My real concern is for the survival ...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

Alison - we have had several requests to the Slalom committee for financial support in 2019 but this is the tip of an iceberg. Some are making a loss and not asking for help and many are probably making a loss and not really recognising it as there account do not include everything. According to th...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

Hi all, some healthy debate. Privately I have chatted with a few people and wonder if a suggestion could be to go with (div 2) £10 entry fee with an option to enhance by up to 50% if needed to make a race feesible if needed. I agree we do not want to encourage competition among races in terms of dis...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

I will start this reply by saying that I have great respect for everyone who works so hard on a voluntary basis to run this sport. I think it is great and I only wish that I had more time to be able to contribute more! I would like to thank everyone who gives up their time, energy and resources to m...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

I’d like to see the evidence of races making losses and those which make a profit..... is this available? We don’t want a sport that is not sustainable but I know that if I increase the cost of a product by 42% (same as increase in division 2 fees) Overnight I would simply not be able to sell it!? T...

Re: Vets - New Points System Please

Oh and I will say it again, do whatever to the points system, but keep it simple, I will still end up paddling at mostly div 2/3 races simply because my kids race in those divisions. If either of them end up in div 1 then I will race there, and I hope with more time on gates on white water I may act...

Ore coach training

One to be aware of! I registered to attend the slalom coach award training at HPP later this month (missing Symonds Yat Slalom in the process), yesterday I got an email telling me that because I had not completed the 'core coach training' 2 day course I could not attend the course. I had not realise...

Re: Paddler Retention

Absolutely agree with this:

WHAT WE NEED IS CLUB FUNDING AND SUPPORT.
STRENGHTH IN DEPTH MAKES FOR A HIGHER STANDARD AT THE TOP.

Need the coaches to work with club coaches and value what we do, help us to develop ourselves and the paddlers.
