Re: Public slalom sessions on the Olympic at Lee Valley.

It would be great if we could find out about any dates in early 2023? (Before my weekends get filled up with other things!)

Re: Enjoyed the Pan Celtic?

Yes, I believe the J16 & Vets champs should be in Scotland next year

Re: 6.10 Entry Fees

My understanding is that fees have increased but levies only increase by inflation (as per motion 6.9 at the ACM).
So the additional income stay with the organising club to help ensure that events are viable.

Re: 6.6 Carry Points Forward for 2022

Regarding end of year promotions and speeding promotion next year. If you promote 2 or 3 out of Div 1 in the classes where lower numbers mean only a win gives sufficient points for promotion, you potentially have fewer paddlers competing next year and role the problem into another year. And where ev...

Re: Officials Ranking List / Trophy

Unfortunately the current holder of the trophy has stupidly forgotten to pack it to bring to Tees this weekend, I remember everything I need to run the event though.

Re: Washburn Div 2 - event info

It is worth pointing out that with Yorkshire Water doing safety work on the lower dam, I was expecting to hear that there would be no water release for the Div 2 event
And today I got confirmation that there would be no release for the div 2 weekend

Re: CanoeSlalomEntries Support for Covid Slaloms

Jim, The second link and statement re grassroots sports guidance is from December so predates and is superceeded by the English lockdown and 'roadmap'. It was updated in Jan with a small blue box at the top that effectively said this doesn't apply during the lockdown. Would be much clearer if they j...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

I don't know how many organisers have ever felt they need to consider this sort of stuff, Yep, been taking the impact of potential clashes with other Div2 events into account for years. Also throw in the impact on numbers that being the 5th, 6th or 7th weekend on the trot for paddler/parents has wh...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

Or we just forget these increase and encourage organisers to look at their realistic costs and make better use of enhanced entry fees. Particularly when those events are seeking support for making a loss the previous year. Yes there is concern that an enhanced fees may discourage entries, but I thin...

Re: 6.7 Organiser Discretion on Accepting Paddle Ups

No! There are no rules that I know of saying who can enter as an official, but if you refuse paddle ups on safety grounds then I don’t think you could accept them to do an officials run But there is no rule to allow you to reject an officials entry. What this rule I should proposing is the ability ...

Re: 6.7 Organiser Discretion on Accepting Paddle Ups

So at some div 1s it would be possible to end up with quite inexperienced div 2 paddlers in circumstances where it just isn’t safe.
Meanwhile anyone can have a judge's run - the inexperience Div 2, a div 3 or div 4 without anyone questioning the safety of this
