I would agree that next year the points system for C1 women should be addressed, it does seem crazy that two competitors whose times are so far apart can have the same points. But as its the first year with this class it was always going to have some flaws. Once there are more girls/women competing...

Surely DOB is needed to get the correct class? J14, J16 etc? as those new to slalom often mistake which class they are in (juniors particularly). And i thought that the address was needed for administration purposes? ranking compilers and others? I don't see why these need to be omitted. Only the o...

Personally I dont bother with events anymore unless they are doubles. As im a student I work most weekends, so if i want to compete it means taking a weekend off work. so i dont want to travel to singles as this means less money and annoying my employers. also living in london it seems crazy for me...

just seen you asking about how waterproof etc, ive had my helmet for about 9 years, and its spent many occasions under water and bashed about on rocks and is still going strong. not sure who would know where these were done though.

my helmet still has an st georges cross sticker from the ECST days... put on there from when i was younger and proud to have got onto the england squad. used to be a fair few scottish and welsh who used to wear their flags on their helmets, not sure how many do now as havnt paddled for a while. sti...

i went down the other day, and all the sluice gates were open and the river was very high, and with all the snow, id imagine the river will be a nice level for the event once again. should make interesting judgeing...... :p

Good News!

We ran the river this evening, its safe to paddle, and no rain forcast over the next few days so river levels will drop even more.

The event is definately ON!!!!

if it was a week later the water level wouldnt be an issue at all. how typical. today it was about an inch lower than last night, promising, but still not totally sure.
i think one of us will test paddle it tomorrow,
so watch this space..
