You can usually get an idea of the Thames water levels by looking at .www.thamesweirproject.co.uk . The Hurley level on there is usually updated every day during the season and there is a conversion table which shows how this level will effect the level at Shepperton

I think he is asking too much, I just bought three boats for a school all in pretty good condition and top constructions, 2 midas and 1 optima and paid £200 each. Realistically it is a buyers market for all 4m boats. :)

The suggestion that you could use it for training people to roll is more interesting than the idea that it could be used for rescue situations. Many people find sitting upside down in a kayak/ canoe very uncomfortable at first and this may give them some more confidence. But nearly £200 for that co...

I do a bit of indoor rock climbing to help with overall strength work and ride my bike quite a bit to help with overall conditioning and CV. This is not necessarily because it is the best way for me to improve my boating but it gives me something different to do and I live an hour away from my near...

For kayaking in the UK (cold) climate I would want: Colour: Don't mind too much as long as its not too bright, my present cags are all blue. Sleeves: Long for most of the year (short sleeves or no cag in summer) Wrists: Latex only for long sleeve slalom cags, (twin seals neoprene over latex for rive...

I am very sad that we will not be seeing a race at Llangollen this year. I hope that the land owners will realise that by reducing the "legal" access to the river during the river running season they are causing more problems for themselves than they are solving. By removing what was a well respecte...
