Manchester Canoe club were told we were not allowed to hold our usual 1/2 Double in May 2011. This is disappointing both for next year and the future, as there is no guarentee we'll have the volunteer support necessary for future years. We were told instead that we could hold the event at the begin...

Having been one of a handful of people who saw the incident unfold, I know that unless some action is taken it will happen again at a variety of high river levels. Have event organisers spoken to those people who know the correct circumstance that led up to the pinning? In my opinion it would be a ...

Travel news from BBC is not encouraging: Heavy snow prompts travel warning in North East

I hope Nicky can let us know soon how this will affect the area we need to travel to.

One of the problems is that you cannot adjust the gates during a category and that as paddlers sometimes go out of order, you end up leaving the gates 'as is'. This was not the cause of the problem at this year's August event; the gates were too high at the beginning of the day. For reasons unknown...

I think a lot of the problems could be sorted simply by better attention to pole height. At last year's Grandtully August Div 1/2 event, when small competitors entered a far off gate in the bottom of a wave, I couldn't judge their line relative to the gate, because of poll height. I'm sure I missed...

Thanks Neil and all supporting coaches. Having family and club members in all three groups, I can say that from my perspective the three categories and session groups worked very well, catering for those already confident and wishing to improve and those wishing to gain confidence on this level of ...

I do not know the real motives for this proposal, as in my opinion the arguments for that Andy Maddocks has provided are weak. I do not believe they are grounded on concepts to help paddler development and motivation. I would like to hear the real arguments, and judge those on their merits. One thi...

Some Div 1 paddlers who were hoping to get promotion this weekend will be devastated; this includes my son. After two years non-stop training and competition, achieving Prem was a major goal for his future development. For those affected, this is not the best way to start winter training. I appreci...

I think this is a good suggestion to help people get promoted at the right time. As an aside, related to this suggestion, in my opinion it is urgent that the slalom committee consider the implications of the lack of competition in some of the women's races; this makes it possible for inexperienced ...
