Alva Division 3/4 13th & 14th September

Don't forget the team event on Saturday afternoon :D This is run as division 3 teams, division 4 teams and open teams, made up of any 3 boats from within the division or lower (e.g. div 3 team could be 2 division 3 and 1 division 4 paddler). Open teams are any 3 boats from any division. All team en...

3 ex demo Omega slalom boats for sale

3 ex demo Omega Slalom Kayaks for sale. Generally good condition with light use, scratches from storage with no major damage on any of the boats. The junior boat (the Byte) has seen a bit more use (it was raced by Peter for a short period in div 2) and has some gelcoat damage, but is still watertigh...

Re: Results screen for Simply Slalom

The Pi is coming into its own! Mine now boots straight to the results screen and has no mouse/keyboard, prior to the event starting it displays a pretty club page (called mresultsdisplay1.html)! As the remote results now over-writes the webpage once screen.bat is started, just hold off starting it u...

Re: Results screen for Simply Slalom

Well, that was easier than I thought. Once I had got the Pi to connect to the Windows share, it could see the webpage and Midori will quite helpfully run it without change! A VESA mount for the Pi to screw it to the back of the monitor https://www.modmypi.com/modmypi-raspberry-pi-case-vesa-mount , a...

Re: Competing in an Officials event

It's not a non paddling volunteer ranking list; any non paddling volunteer who fills in an entry card receives points, and they are then ranked in the officials ranking list, so you may have paddlers or non paddlers in this list: B6.6 Non-paddling Officials will receive 25 points providing that they...

Re: Competing in an Officials event

I guess if there is plenty of free practice available it's not going to make a lot of difference except in the case Veronica speaks about - significant water level changes since practice, and an officials run somewhere before your ranking run giving an opportunity to "test the water". I think we all...

Re: Results screen for Simply Slalom

Hi Duncan, Sorry - I should have explained the "thanks" was for passing my message to Ken, I got a new version over the weekend! I have done some testing for Ken before, so not sure if it's general release yet, but it certainly works fine for the entries I have put in, and the remote result setup is...

Re: Competing in an Officials event

Hi Sven, Imagine a div 1/2 race where there is no practice run at all due to the number of entries. A paddler manages to get a judges run, which happens to be before their ranking run, and then they "offer" to do it back to back. For several paddlers, this is a promotion points event as it's late se...

Re: Competing in an Officials event

Of course, the flipside of this is if it's decided (as has been stated by some) that it doesn't matter (except at prem), then let's get rid of the rule for the lower divisions and anyone fit enough (not me, then!) can do it...

Re: 2014 event at Pinkston

It will be the opening slalom event for Glasgow.
Hopefully not - Stirling & Falkirk CC & CR CATS are hoping to run one of the Winter Series rounds there this year - possibly just before Christmas, so non paddlers can go Christmas Shopping in Glasgow :D

Watch canoeslalom.co.uk for details!

Re: Results screen for Simply Slalom

Hi Duncan, Is there a new version of SS with the link to the ranking DB? I haven't had an update for a while, and was just about to start setting up our Alva event. We use the remote results via wifi at Alva, and provided I can get the network to stay up, it works well, so thanks for your efforts wi...

Re: Competing in an Officials event

It seems some organisers (and competitors) despite knowing the rules, still insist this is the only way to get judges. We challenged an organiser earlier this year and that was the response - and I notice in a soon to be run event, the same paddler has again entered an individual and officials event...
