Re: Year Book Review - Codes

I am also over 50 and never looked at the codes.
Whats wrong with a page number.

If you put everything on line then there will need to be a reference to find things.

Re: Division 2/3 Veterans Trophy

Jim I have just stopped laughing and thinking about you stuck in a gate with the pole down your BA. Question is was your Head inside or out of the Gate. :D It s really good to see so many Vets competing again. I remember racing VETs in the 90s and always coming second to Richard Fox. So the overall ...

Re: Symonds Yat Div 2/3 16th and 17th March

We haven't done the Usk for years so would be interested in getting out for a paddle on Saturday if you're arranging something. We're staying in the Forest View Guest House in Symonds Yat East. Hi James You could find the water is over the Road in the morning, its at 4.00 meters in Ross and rising. ...

Re: Symonds Yat Div 2/3 16th and 17th March

Sorry to Say the Yat Slalom has been canceled. We have tried to change the venue but there is not enough time to make all the arrangements. For anyone that is traveling to the Yat with accommodation booked we could do a River trip or something ? There are lots of lovely rivers in South Wales like th...

Re: Symonds Yat Div 2/3 16th and 17th March

The Yat is washed out and the River on Red alert upstream, combined with the high winds we have made the decision to cancel it. Dulverton Sat Nav TA22 9HJ There are lines still up from the canceled event Two weeks ago. The River Levels are good and the site is much more sheltered from the wind. So w...

Re: C2 Slalom Entry Fees

Didn't see you go Swimming Steve.
If you had Fins on the Boat then you could have made good use of them.

Good to see some C2 s on the water at the weekend.

Re: Symonds Yat Div 2/3 16th and 17th March

We are probably 50/50 at the moment. The River upstream has just gone up to 4meters and that will be at the Yat Wed evening. We need it to be under 3meters, so it will depend on what Rain we get between now and Friday. We will make a decision tomorrow evening and post on hear. Better move it to Shep...

Re: Back-up Dates?

So the way I read this is. 1. We can't have an alternative Date because the Calendar is already to full. I agree on this having attended the ACM, there just are not any alternative Dates. 2. We can't change the venue because the timing team and section judges can't change there plans. But they have ...

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s

The problem is that we do not have any div 3's and two's apart from TIDS etc as there's no point in clubs developing paddlers only to lose them to the huge squads...that the rest of us basically pay for. Support the clubs to get 50 racers each and we have a chance of keeping costs under control at ...

Re: Back-up Dates?

Alternative Sites. Symonds Yat last weekend was running at about 0.7meters. [Shepperton canceled with No water] This would make a good challenging level for a Div1 Event. Usually this time of year it is around 3.00 meters and washed out. So it is 2.5 hours from Shepperton but on the same latitude. S...

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s

A Div one on the Olympic course would be excellent. After all it was built for Slalom. I think £50.00 is acceptable for Two Days of racing. We need to get a Sponsor or Slalom Exec to subsidise it. Saying that the Tryweryn and Cardiff would also be good. Or we could go back to Llangollen or the Serpe...

Re: Symonds Yat Div 2/3 16th and 17th March

Hi James, I fully agree with you and I am sure the local business are happy for you to spend cash with them. The problem is there is just not enough parking at the Canoe Centre unless they use the field and the Ground is still to wet for this. So the Slalom event will take over all there parking for...

Re: Panic Buying or Plain Daft

As far as I'm aware none of the races later in the year are yet full, even now a couple of weeks after the opening date, so it doesn't seem like it's a problem? I don't think there is a problem with availability so why did the slalom community want to stress-test the system :? :? [/quote Probably b...

Re: Panic Buying or Plain Daft

I think the system is fine.
I dont do Jan Sales or Black Fridays and I didn't get up in the middle of the Night.

I just entered every race for the Year Two days after they came on line.
So I now have the season planed.

Provided a miracle douse not happen and I get promoted.
