CE Slalom Summary Sheet

Is someone able to advise me how to complete the CE Slalom Summary Sheet? On the MC Discount tab what is the difference between Number of Multiclass Entries / Discount Given (£3 each) and Number of Multiclass Entries / Refund Claimed (at £1.50 each)? Noting First Entries must be Div 3 or Div 2 to cl...

Simply Slalom

This question is addressed to Ken in the first instance but anyone else chip in if they have an answer. I am running under Windows 7 and I have just installed Excel 97 to run the Simply Slalom macro. When I do Ctrl+Shift+r I get the following error message. Run-time error '438': Object doesn't suppo...

Re: Making new gates

...4m lengths of 40mm pipe would be convenient for sizes - would these work if weight is added by filling them with something? Any other ideas?? Put concrete in the ends to weight the poles. With a piece of foam (the rougher packing foam is easier to cut through than the black canoe padding foam) a...

Re: publication of start lists

I pick up on the fact that when Haggis Hunter did Grandtully he built up a separate list. Is there any reason why you should not input to Simply Slalom or equivalent as they are received and print* the Start tab with a heading of Draft Start List or something? That way you don't have to input twice....

Re: Slalom poles

For plastic poles I use red and green sticky back plastic obtained from my local department store. Looking on the back it says d-c-fix. Just google that and you get eg. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/vinyldepot You may already know this but with plastic poles to ensure a sensible weight put concrete in th...

Re: Our sport is a mess

Simon you've found how few clubs currently take part in slalom. And also how few races there are, particularly in this part of the country. I spoke to Dave recently and yes it would be great to get Symonds Yat running again. My club was fortunate in gaining a grant for boats a couple of years ago. W...

Has anything changed? With Firefox I can only see the lower half of the menu along the top. With IE8 and Chrome I can't see it at all.

Re: The Future of British Slalom??

maybe they could be encouraged to run friendly competitions within their club on weekend days. I think most bigger slalom clubs have regualr group training sessions during the week and at weekends. My club (Frome) is a small club in slalom terms. We have club boats. We have regular training. We hav...

Re: Open Divisions

Events at one of four degrees of difficulty, based on the water, the course and the competition, and offering different levels of maximum points. Who sets the level and when? Some sites are fairly clear cut, but I obviously have a vested interest in that Shepperton can probably hit the full level r...

Re: 2/3/4 slaloms not allowed

It would be good to just accept that no single course is adequately challenging for a spread of 3 divisions! Time and effort would be better spent promoting the sport more in the local area and then hosting more div 4 events encouraging people to get further up the ladder in the sport, instead of b...

A paddler from Yorkshire. A county where there are more events than anywhere else. Come down South and you'd be a lot less picky.
