I decided not to paddle at Nene for just this reason! You should have come to Matlock for the best ever Officials event of the year - not that we did much judging but we did put in the time organising a non-event! How many different combinations did we get for team runs?:D

What a fantastic day at Matlock today! Shame we had no competitors! Great Officials Competition though. Brill time Steve - shame about the 50!

So if you know any div 4's at a loose end tomorrow - please send them to Matlock so we can actually run an event.

I think the answer is that it needs advertising to promote it more. It also needs explaining in the yearbook/website that it's open to all juniors and veterans and not just the invited/selected. The first time we came across it, we travelled all the way to Llandysul and just raced at the div 2 on S...

Should this not be hosted in England next year? I'd heard that it was 2 years in Wales, 2 years in Scotland, then 2 years in England. Obviously I was mis-informed?

What a brilliant spot. I loved this event. If you weren't there, you missed out - especially those of you who like me to beat you!

Thanks to Tonksie and team Tigers for superb organisation. I will definately be back.

This all sounds good! A couple of questions... 1) I presume that you would still suggest M/W and different classes? 2) When would an event be catagorised? Presumably close to the event - at the moment Matlock is struggling towards Grade 1/10? (div 4 level) (I think there is a mistake up there!) but...

Great weekend. Thanks all! (Missed the BBQ though - that was brilliant last year :( )
I've just looked at the draft calandar to find that Matlock4 clashes with Howsham next year. That's not going to happen!

I think the whole rule book needs throwing up in the air and re-writing! There are so many subtle tweeks and changes each year it gets muddled. But that's not an offer to do it!

I went to a slalom somewhere near Slough in the early 80's, but I can't remember what the weir was called. All I can recall is the smell! Not much help that, I suppose!!!
