Re: Race Entry

Looking at the increase in size of K1M Prem & K1M Div1 during 2014: K1M started 2014 with 150ish bibs & finished with 219, 6 people were demoted so an increase of 64ish paddlers or 42% - wow! K1M Prem started 2014 with 66 bibs & finished with 86, 8 people were demoted so increase of 12 paddlers - 1...

Bit like an exotic Nottingham. There's two words you will probably never see in conjunction again

I thought perhaps you moved house to avoid it, then, like a Reggie Perrin rising from an ocean of guilt, relented

Re: musings on the sport

I always wonder about safety at events but not usually over anything that an organiser has done. I've said it on here before and pretty sure others have too. My particular concern is how slalom paddlers react if they swim or have to take a rope - floating vertically, feet under the water, not swimmi...

Re: Is Div.1 K1 Men Too Large?

Just pondering the Shepperton entry and noted the relatively small entry in Div 2 K1W. i suppose this could be a knock on effect of the increase in Div K1M and entries coming in fast, regardless it is a shame to see such a low entry in that category as it isn't good for the future - I hope further e...

Re: Artificial Courses

Ah yes, I knew Tees was a possibility so glad it came good.

Agree about grid

Still wonder about long term viability in respect of comments re Cardiff race.

Artificial Courses

With the demise of the excellent Cardiff race this year, no Tees Race or Legacy race currently on the calendar and the rising cost of competing at LV; how well does this bode for the future?

Re: 6.9 Paddle Up Token

Interesting The reason I asked if there were any stats on how many PU's had made the 40% was because I have certainly been at races where it would be highly unlikely for the majority of PU's to make the percentage. What is the real reason for entering then? To gain experience, certainly and fair eno...

Re: 6.9 Paddle Up Token

Well I was hoping to kick off the debate as no-one else had. I was a bit confused over how many paddlers could achieve 1000 points. What I was alluding to was that a judge, albeit clearly not entered as a paddle up, could achieve a time better than a paddler of the same division who had entered PU a...
