Re: Portable points next season
I see. So basically there is no change except that paddle ups will get points for their position rather than all or nothing. They may get more than 1,000 points and can get less than this depending on their ranking position in the race. etc. Not sure this will help with the over subscribed races tho...

Re: Portable points next season
Is there anyone actually in favour of the new system? From the link above it seems that this is not popular within the sport. It looks like the div 1 paddlers are going to compete with all the div 2 paddlers to get a race that only accepts half the division as it is. It does not apply to div 3 or Pr...

Re: Washburn Division 1 2015 UPDATE
I appreciate that you want to paddle, but the event is so over subscribed and all of the div 1's are over subscribed that water time is at a premium.Whilst it would be nice to let everyone paddle, it is better to prioritise those that have applied for ranking, have got a bib and need the water time ...

Portable points next season
I saw the video for portable points...but how is this going to work next year?
Will there still be a divisional system? Etc.
Does anyone have the details?

Re: Washburn Division 1 2015 UPDATE
Hi Sam it's a toughie. I think I would allocate the water time that was for judges runs to div 1 promotees then paddle ups and then judges runs in that order. Get the newbies and pups judging for you. You kill 3 birds with 1 stone and you make an extra £700.00 in entry fees for the same water time a...

Re: Washburn Division 1 2015 UPDATE

Re: Washburn Division 1 2015 UPDATE
Hi Sam Here's an idea. Let promotees and paddle ups race in but make them do some judging in return. Therefore you get as many judges as you need, booked in advance and instead of 25 free judges runs, you get 25 additional paying runs which means more revenue, more happy paddlers getting a chance to...

Re: If the Answer is 42, what is the Question?
Hi. Some good ideas. To encourage helpers to attend and get value from their efforts, why not give let paddle ups do your judging. So they get their ranking runs, they pay a normal fee and they do the judging, work in control etc. They get a couple of timed runs down the course now anyway. So the or...

Re: If the Answer is 42, what is the Question?
John makes a valid point. Possibly the most valid point. It is not just more races that we have to consider. The question is what do we want to achieve as a sport and why do we do it? So we need to phrase a set of quotations that define our sport. Since the revival of the sport we have seen HPP, Sto...

Re: If the Answer is 42, what is the Question?
Paddle ups....if you have 20 judges runs, these could be repalced by paddle ups. Make the paddle ups judge other classes. So K1M paddle up Judges K1 Ladies and so on. This would also be 20 extra paddle up entry fees for the organiser. The judging would probably be done by the parents of paddle up ki...

Electronic entries is a no brainer. I do not own a chequebook and have not owned a chequebook for about 6 years. Make it online, dead easy.

Brand New Epoxy Carbon kevlar Nemesis from £865.00
Arrowcraft deal direct with the paddler rather than through resellers and distributors because this way you can buy a great boat in competition construction at trade prices. So if you are buying a competition slalom boat for yourself, your kids or your club, then with Arrowcraft you can buy an epoxy...
