Couldn't agree more.
I too am sick to death of reminding paddlers to remain on until two more paddlers have finished.
Last year I had to remind the padder immediately before me to stay on.
The second run he did exactly the same again.

I read it as £1.50 per boat for teams.

Re: Event Safety
And also why you felt it necessary to double post which is bad form. Hopefully the board admins will delete the spurious one. There's no reason why Peter can't post in both, but I have merged + shadowed them for convenience 8) ~Mike "British Canoeing Event Safety Management training" - Yet another c...

Re: Editorial: Portable Points
There is a bottle neck at the top of some divisions particularly in K1M in Div 1 reducing the flow into Prem. Portable points provides a fairer and more seamless way than Paddle Up for better paddlers And there you have it. Wrecking the system for everyone else just to cater for "top of some divisi...

Re: Editorial: Portable Points
There are other problems too for portable points. In my case as a lowly Div 3 paddler I usually enter the Cardington slalom, which this year was a 2/3/4. When I enter I am entered into the start list as first-come-first-served. With portable points it would probably run as a div 2. The host division...

Re: 2016 Calendar
Yes, I would've put it into the calendar provisionally as a div 2 until Mikey responded. To simply miss it out altogether was not a good decision.SilverSurfer wrote:To simply exclude Cardington is a poor decision and unnecessary.

It's lucky that we're all intelligent folks here, otherwise we'd wonder why Pete was advertising an event for last month rather than July!

Re: Cardington June 2015
Does this mean that you're changing the conditions on the canoe slalom website which states very clearly that "Late entries accepted Online and via email until Wednesday 10th June"

Re: musings on the sport
I would strongly recommend that all paddlers have at least done the FSRT course, which admittedly isn't usually on moving water, but is probably easier for clubs to provide.

Re: 2/3/4 slaloms not allowed
Perhaps you can run Cardington as a div 2/3 with a sc div 4 where the short course is actually all of the gates. I would also run the div 4 in two parts, part 1 after the 1st runs and part 2 after the 2nd runs. The upshot of this is that you cannot mix other classes in - ie no C2's out of sequence b...
