Re: Sshhh – it’s a secret! The Pan Celtic
Mike Unfortunately, we didn't know the dates of the Pan Celtic legs when the calendar was being agreed. The Scottish Schools event at Alva is the same weekend as the Welsh leg (which my club is organising) and this is the only event in the calendar that all paddlers from all divisions race together....

Re: Sshhh – it’s a secret! The Pan Celtic
It's even more of a secret than I thought! I was going to pull together the Pan Celtic results for the 2 Scottish legs but it's not possible from the results on line as you can't see who was racing for any of the countries. At the races, you could see from the start list who was racing for Scotland,...

Re: Div4 promotions
I've just reread the promotion rules for Division 4 (rule 6.6.3) A Division 4 event is quorate with 3 paddlers. Promotion is achieved as follows: 6.6.3.a Promotion from Quorate Division 4 competitions (See 1.4) All Events: 1 in 5 (or part thereof). OR if their score is better than that of an athlete...

Canoe Slalom photo
I love seeing all the different photos that Nick posts.
I think my favourite has to be the current photo of Joel and Benja in the C2 at Pinkston.
What a fantastic smile on Benja's face. Cheers me up every time I see it.

Re: Results required for promotion display
Jim You only need to know those within 1 result of promotion so they only paddle Saturday and not Sunday. If it was possible to do without much effort, there could be an option to display all paddlers within 1 result of promotion on a separate page on Canoe Slalom so organisers (and coaches and padd...

Re: Encouraging volunteers
Mistakes are made at all levels of the sport both by paddlers and volunteers. And when organisers are struggling to run an event with insufficient volunteers, people can get fractious - I know I do! We are all human. Issues are always better going through the chair person of the jury to take a measu...

Hi Paul
We'd be interested in the paddle if it is still available please.

Re: Results required for promotion display
I do like it
The only downside is that paddlers and coaches don't need to practise their mental maths anymore!

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s
Zachary My experience is that it’s not easy to access the slots. You can be added to the list but don’t get confirmation until all squads have confirmed whether they want a space. This means you might not know you have a space until a couple of weeks in advance and if you are a small group, this mak...

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s
If you are running an event at Lee Valley, I think that where possible water time should be booked to allow paddlers who are not local to train on the water/course before the race. This gives non local paddlers a better chance of competing well in the race and improves the race outcome ie paddler mo...

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s
There is no getting away from the fact that competing in Division 1 and prem is expensive. The entry fees are just a part of the costs. Factor in travel expenses for a family and travelodge/premier inn and a weekend slalom costs about £300. Having local events will help if paddlers can stay at home ...

Does anyone know when the races below

July HPP Div 1/2 (Manchester)
are likely to be available online to enter?

Re: Panic Buying or Plain Daft
Quite entertaining to watch all the entries come in today :D I've cancelled all the duplicate practice slots leaving one in. So, if you had 2 or 3 or 4 booked for Friday, you now have 1. The same goes for Saturday, This has let me offer out the spaces to those on the waiting list. I was going to e-m...

Re: ACM Motion 6.2 Paddle Up Priority
From what I can see the percentile is based on the number of paddlers in the class as determined by the number of bibs in the class. using C1M as an example, The highest bib number shown on the ranking list is 65. There are 7 promotions. So, there are 58 paddlers in the class, some of who have not r...
