Re: 6.7 Organiser Discretion on Accepting Paddle Ups
I can't even begin to imagine why host division paddlers would leave it that late Some paddlers who work can't know far in advance which weekends they will be free, and risking an entry fee on a race you might not be able to get to is expensive. Nick. When I paddled in Prem. My year was planned aro...

Re: 6.2 Entry Fees
There are some good replies to this proposal and I believe the majority are against a big increase at Div 4,3,2 events. Div 1 and Prem are different because the competitors want good Judging and timing. Also most of the sites are more expensive to book. With numbers dropping at the lower divisions I...

Nick
Especially if it is before the start.
I must point out that only my C2 partner Swam.
So yes that would disqualify us from C2 but not my individual race.

Re: Promotion and 50's
Keep it simple. If someone gets promoted with a 50 then that fine, we need to encourage everyone to progress. Has anyone looked at Symonds Yat results from 2 weeks ago. 1st K1 Ladies got 250 penalties and promoted to Div 2. Competed on the Dart and came 2nd. Now in the ENTS squad. Nothing rong with ...

Re: Vets - New Points System Please
Nobody has mentioned Age. Should we also have an Age calculation. But that will make everything impossible for a Vet to work out. I am going to join you all in Vets K1 next year as my results have dropped and with the Percentile System I can no longer get entries at Prem Races [Div1 paddle ups] So i...

Re: Course Design.
I agree Paul.
Llandysul with perfect water levels and Two totally different courses.
Lots of options on different gate moves and all the options being uses.
Lovely to paddle and spectate.

Re: Symonds Yat Sunday cancelled
Thats 4 Symond Yats on the trot that have been washed out.
Next Years provisional calender has it on 25th-26th April.
Can it Rain or Snow then?
We will probably get flooded out with Holiday makers in there Open Canoes, but they all add to the fun.

Re: C1 Disaster Imminent?
I agree Jim, we have completely gone off topic again. I belive we could have a record beetling discussion on 50 year Old Kit on its own. I calculate it was one year old when I started paddling and is showing its age just like me. I must say its good to see lots of new Girls doing C1, we need to enco...

"Perhaps the points system could somehow be tweaked to allow for the difference in size of the classes?" This has been a thought of mine for sometime but for different reasons. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Re: Course Design.
This year, 3/4 courses have mostly been set for where there's enough water in between the rocks to fit some gates in! If you have a secret source of people who aren't tired on a Saturday afternoon to come and set a completely different course for the Sunday, I want to know where you keep them becau...

Course Design.
Is it time to have some better guidelines on Slalom course design. Having attended most Prem and all the Div 1 Slaloms so far this year I have made the following observations. Nearly every Prem course has been technically and Physically demanding. The Lee Valley Prem at the start of the season was p...

Re: C1 Disaster Imminent?
So are we heading for a disaster at the Top of div 1 or not. Maybe its just the most competitive class. As it stands we have the following. 9 - K1 Ladies out of 54 Promoted. 12- K1 Men out of 105 Promoted 5- C1 Ladies out of 16 promoted and one paddler with 1000 point ranked 6th 4 -C1 Men out of 38 ...

Re: Paddler Retention
There is no easy answer for this question. Paddlers will give up for a number of reasons and some may just need an excuse to pack it all in. I think we need to look at Scotland they have numbers. Having paddled from the age of 13 I have probably packed it in more than anyone. Usually just down to ba...

Re: HPP Prem/Div 1 - Sept 21/22
Just a thought which may not be possible at this stage. Given that the J16 championship for K1 Men and Women will be won by a prem paddler, could we move the K1 men (and possible the K1W) categories to be contested on the Saturday instead? This would free up 16 spaces for the Sunday. I like this id...

Re: Grandtully Div.2 Rules Clarification Request
Its interesting to discover that there is No need to change the course from one Day to the Next. I always believed that there had to be at least 4 changes in a course. Obviously if the water level changes so douse the course and it sounds like Grandtully div 2 was lucky to even run on the Sunday. So...
