I'm surprised to hear about this new ruling... I wasn't aware of it! Ofcourse, I could walk up to check the results first, then warm-down if no protest is required. Even then, it's pretty tight. Maybe I should tuck a fiver (is that how much a protest costs?) inside my neoprene shorts incase I need ...

I don't know if it's the right answer but I only sent one copy to those with multiple roles. I have not had a complaint from them about it either...

Query for those suggesting cardless at lower divisions (which I would love as I hate filling them in!). I can see how it would work for P/1 as there are lots of computers in control already. Can someone explain (genuine interest) how the scores from the judges would be recorded, checked and put int...

- card goes up promptly, so promptly that you are still on the water at the bottom of course waiting for the next two paddlers who have been delayed. By the time you are off water and at the top of the course you could be out of time - you're pretty sure you didn't hit that gate, but as long as you...

I personally wouldn't regard 17th "a top ranked div 2 paddler", nor would I consider her likely to get promoted this season, but hopefully she will attain div 1 next year. She is also not yet shown on the ranking list as having been promoted so didn't feature in the calculations! The ranking list s...

I am not suggesting a change to the C1 rules, as from an organiser's point of view they're easy to understand, and as all 3 girls had similar times they were probably paddling in the correct division, but it may be that the committee want to look at it from the aspect of the number of 3 event promo...

Munchkin, just to confirm, is your reply the new proposal, as the current rules say "new C2 pairings containing a Competitor currently, or previously ranked in any category in Division 2 or above, must compete in Division 2/3" i.e. Div 3+Div 3 can be div 4 but P-2+Div 3 must be div 2/3 Nope, trying...

Sorry, but that does imply to me that you cannot take their word for it i.e. you don't trust them.

Thinking about this, does it matter? If a C2 crew had entered div 4 before but have subsequently been promoted to div 2+ in another class, they have been gaining slalom experience. That puts them in the same situation as if they had just entered C2 for the very first time - and in fact they have an...

But thats a new comeptitor not someone who has already started in Div 4. If you are in Div 2 K1 and want to try C1 you start in Div 4, you then get promoted in the K1 to Div 1, you stay in Div 4 C1 until promoted as right as you have already started in that division. Though the use of the word "mus...

Its ok for munchkin currently ranked in Prem/1 and div 1 to say the rules are fine as they are and understood. Anna-Louise, there is one thing that I really hate and that's people putting words in my mouth!!! Read back through my posts and as far as I can see I have not said that. In fact, I was de...

I always go 'by the book', if they say they have paddled div 4 before, and they are in the div 4 listings at the back of the yearbook, then they can paddle div 4, if not, the rules about current ranking apply. But isn't that the point...where does it say that in the book, and what if they didn't ra...
