Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s
I think that the fees seem to have crept up over the years on artificial courses. Teeside is not worth the trip to be fair, neither is Pinxton. Cardiff is pretty good...but pricey and Lee Valley is just a bit of a shallow boat snapping ditch and not worth the fee. Plus, unless you train there all th...

Re: C1 Promotion points
That's fine, but prem races are the pinnacle of our sport and these races are all about points. Top Div 1's might be able to add value to the race by trying to score promotion points and gaining experience. But there is no value to prem for little Jonny or Jane coming and pretending they're in prem ...

Re: C1 Promotion points
If they enter the race then they should be included in the points awarded...or they are just in the way.

Re: C1 Promotion points
The whole point of paddle up is to win promotion points. Read Mikes post and you will see that I am agreeing with his point about the quality of paddle ups and their contribution to promotion points. the vast majority of PU paddlers offer no value to the Premier race and secure no points so why are ...

Re: C1 Promotion points
I agree with Mike. Paddle up is OK but there are too many of them and it devalues Prem. If people want to race at Prems for experience then they can judge, like we used to and there was never a shortage of judges as a result. At the Open this year there were way too many paddle ups. I was told that ...

Re: Ranking and Promotion
Prem is about full now. Div 1 is just about to burst and Div 2 is shrinking. The next round of TID's from HPP & LV, plus the next lot of Stonies and our new slalom teams are likely to bring another 50 or so paddlers through in the next year...so will the divisions hold the volume or do we need to ad...

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P
Interesting points. There were 20 paddlers that got their entry in on time but were denied a race at HPP. I am not against paddle up in principle, but the preference needs to be given to host divisions, even to bump a paddle up out in order to let a prem paddler race. Prem paddlers have only 9 oppor...

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P
I am happy to help put this right. I can poll the paddlers and interpret their responses and I will do it for free.

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P
Paddler mum makes valid points. It does need thinking about once you have engaged with the competitors. Find out what they want and expect. Then build a divisional system to deliver a competitive Prem. Make promotions actually mean something and let people move around the divisions based on their re...

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P
DJ it's not sad, it IS a recognition of Dee and their views...I have no idea who Dee is...it's not an insult. What is insulting, is when something is so obviously wrong and damaging and people have a pop at the person that simply states the obvious. Dee is clearly concerned about this, as we all are...

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P
Look, it's pretty simple. There are only 9 prem races at which prem paddlers can get points. They MUST have priority over everyone else because of the lack of opportunity. If organisers want to accept PUPS, then PUPS must accept that they can be displaced by prems... even if they enter later...even ...

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P
The bib officer has the email address of every prem paddler. Why not email them and ask them if they think Palddle ups should be allowed to enter prem races? Should prems be pushed out of race slots and let div 1's race in prem instead. Word it how you want to. Ask the question and you will have the...

Re: Prem is dead Long live Div 1P
Dee. It's not enough to say that we need to follow the democratic process and overturn this nonsense...That's just committee bullshoot, used by committees the world over to justify their poor decisions. This was pushed through. It was a dumb idea and it is now proving to be a dumb practice. The comm...
