Re: 6.2 Entry Fees

Real terms: My stanndard family entry fees for a Div 2 will go from £60.9 to £105 The proposed increase is too much too soon. Do some research, look at the unintended consequences! My entries are a competitive K1M and a C1W,Vet and C2 the latter three are simply entering because it makes it an inclu...

Re: Vets - New Points System Please

I'm pretty happy to see it stay as it is. I like the challenge of trying to get the full 1000 at a Div 1 in my C1 and accept that when I got in the semi final at the Open last year (thanks for forgetting I was there too Bob  ) I got less points than at a Div 2 where I pick up the full 500 easi...

Re: Annual Consultative Meeting

The following is proposed by Proteus CC: We have a very inactive and dysfunctional Vets section and as such we have discussed extensively and honed the following proposal. Do we have a club to second this: Vets a fairer ranking system; Lets face it the lower age limit for Vets means some are only ju...

I agree.....and there are nearly always local paddlers who can step in at a moments notice.

Re: Vets' Points

So, leave it as it is then. An imperfect system that appears to be working. It looks to me (based on no data) to be more Vets at races than previously and on the whole we seem to be enjoying it.

Re: Vets' Points

Just to add to the debate...... The same paddler (Joel) paddled both C1 Vet and K1 Vet, on the same day on the same course at yesterday's Washburn Div. 1 race. Now that the results have been posted I see that he was able to secure the full 1,000 points available in his C1 but only 340 points out of...

Re: Vets' Points

On reflection, I think I largely agree with Darren. Sorry Bob, I know exactly where you are coming from I got more points at a Div2 than I did from the British Open too (thanks for forgetting I was there too  ). However, it does seem unreasonable to uproot the whole system just to cater for a ...

Re: Vets' Points

How many Vets are actually racing at Div1 or Prem? Not that many.....so unless they are complaining should we just leave it as it is?
We all know the score.....want to secure good points race in Div 2 or Div 1. Want to race on "bigger" water got to Div 1's or Prem's. I know that's what I'm doing. :D

Re: Vets' Points

Firstly, I don't see a reason to have separate points for C1's and K1's in Vets. Personally, I find it reasonably straight forward to get 500 points in my C1 at a Div 2 but a proper struggle in K1. So far I have managed it 3 times out of four but only in one of those would I have been the outright w...

I have used them a couple of times for venues I have never been too before. I agree, pictograms would be more immediately understood.

Re: Division 2/3 Veterans Trophy

Well, hang on a moment. Last year at a couple of races I won cake......I am bothered about getting that!! :D Yes, I got more points for the Div 2's I did than I got for making the semi's at the British Open, but I wasn't there for the points. I think overall we (Vets) know where we can personally ga...

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s

I'm not sure who you are Arrowcraft, but I suspect you have never raced on LV so I think to describe LV as a shallow boat breaking ditch is both inaccurate and unfair if you have not. As a race venue it is standout. I have been fortunate enough to race (and paddle) around the world and I would put L...

Re: How Much is too much for Div 1s

Personally I would be prepared to pay £60 for a double div 1 at LV. I'm guaranteed 4 runs and if you throw in a practise run each day I'd be feeling rather chipper about the situation. After all, as a Vet I paid £50 to race at the Open last season where I was only certain of getting the two runs on ...
