Re: Judges Meeting - Briefing Script

Brilliant! Two things I would add: -Going through a gate the wrong way is a 50 and unlike a half head it can't be undone by then going through it the right way (in fact maybe it would be good to have 2 little lists: 50s that can be undone and 50s that can't) -If you put the pictures that Nick made i...

Re: Coping with Numbers in Div 1

We keep trying 45 seconds to see if it works and we keep getting backlogs in section judges giving their results to control because they only just have enough time between paddlers to read you things. 45 seconds is enough time to see a div 1 and prem paddler through a short section and immediately r...

Re: The Year Book

I realised last night that people who *do* get lots of use out of the paper yearbook might not be great readers of Chatter and need to be looked for in another way like a survey by email or post or something, if decisions are going to get made on whether there will be a paper yearbook or not.

Re: The Year Book

Ken did an amazing job, but now you've said it, I think I could manage ok without a printed version. Having a pdf version would be helpful though, formatted with verso and recto sides so that it can be printed out to e.g. have a copy kicking around a clubhouse.

Re: Time for a radical rethink?

The first step in attracting 18-35 age group is to treat it like an actual age group and not the leftovers in between the real categories. I said this before on Facebook and was kind of kidding: if there were trophies for age category S, I'd have a mantelpiece full. But then Sheffield Canoe Club act...

Re: Time for a radical rethink?

How did they run events with more than 200 lower division paddlers? What time did they start and finish? When did everybody in control manage to eat and wee? Did the timing never fail? It seems huge compared to 3/4s now, we cram as many as possible in the Prems and 1s because they go faster but the ...

POV footage is useful but also from the bank so I can see where they're putting their boat. You're great, thank you!

Re: Pinkston Div 2/3 - 24/25 June (+ practice)

A bit of a cheeky request, but please could somebody take some video of it on one pump at the Div 3 and put it on YouTube, if there are any paddlers who don't mind being filmed? (Maybe a judges' run or something?) I find it really valuable to watch video of a course as part of getting brave enough t...
