Re: Editorial: Portable Points
Here, Here Dave, I think that you have captured exactly the reasons why the Portable Points introduction should at least be postponed at this years ACM if not abandoned all together. It does nothing to deal with the real issue of the current Div. 1 Bottleneck and in fact even adds to that issue. I'm...

Re: National Prizes
K1 Veteran's and C2 Junior Trophy's given to Martyn Setchell at today's Prem. race at Tees so that he can bring them down to you at the British Open event Colin.
Thanks for the offers of assistance Phil and Sally.
See you all at the ACM.

Re: National Prizes
Hi Colin.
I am only going to be at the Tees event on the Sunday so who would you like me to give the Old Man's K1 trophy to?
Cheers,
Steve

Re: Automating Slalom Returns
Hi Duncan,
George did exactly this at Pinkston last weekend and we were charged for two single day Div. 1 entry fees.
Best regards,
Steve

Re: Portable points next season
Thanks Colin. I got the sense that this was the approach that was being taken by the Slalom Committee. However as the debate last year was raging I distinctly remember you making comment to the effect that this motion before the room was not the Yes / No debate it now appears to have been but more o...

Re: Portable points next season
If I recall correctly from the ACM I attended towards the end of last season the motion that was passed only gave the Slalom Committee the jurisdiction to look into what the implications would be if Portable Points were introduced and how the existing rules would need to be changed to allow it to ha...

Re: If the Answer is 42, what is the Question?
I for one can't see how an Entry Open By date would work? At the moment entry cards (with payment) need to be sent by Royal Mail. How then can people judge when to drop their envelope into the post box? If it arrives a day too early is it discarded as if it were never submitted? If it arrives a day ...

Re: Race Entry
I wonder what people would think about getting rid of Official Practice at Div.1 races and make them like Prem. races? This would automatically create many more entry slots that are currently required. By the time paddlers get to Div.1 perhaps they should be able to read the water and plan their fir...

Re: Race Entry
I fully concur with Dave Bradshaw and his ranking adjustment suggestions as this was the essence of my post "Is Div.1 K1 too big" back in February which drew many comments at that time. People want to race so we should try to remove any barriers to them doing so but many Div.2 paddlers need and want...

Is Div.1 K1 Men Too Large?
Yesterday was 16th February and we were told that the Div.1 / PCC race due to be taking place on the 11th April had already reached the available capacity. This is the best part of 8 weeks before the race is due to take place, before the official 2015 race season has actually started and before any ...

Re: Interclub Club places
Thanks Mikey, I thought that it was a pity that 3rd and 2nd placed teams were not announced at prize giving even if they were not going to collect any medals / trophy as it was still a very good achievement by all concerned. Although there was lots going on and much to get through anyway. Just an ob...

Re: TULLY PREM ENTRIES
Fantastic idea Haggis Hunter :D In the absence of a start list, which often does not get published until after the closing date for entries has passed, this list will put a lot of people's mind at rest. Having just gone through the process I fully understand how many e-mails you will have received a...

Hi
Just to confirm that the 3rd S&SCC Mini Slalom event planned for today will be going ahead.
A dry and sunny day has been forecast and the river level should be ideal for the course that has been set.
Come and check it out.
