My better half was paddling an Equipe79 (made in '78) until earlier this year and we thought that was old!

I wasn't at the event, but in general terms I think a little common sense should be applied. At a Shepperton event this year one paddler was offered a re-run having been chased round the course by a swan!! I don't think this specific eventuality was covered by the year book and I'm not sure how man...

In many ways I find it strange that restructuring of events and competitions is being discussed now, just when the numbers have started to rise. Look at the trends - yes, numbers have been sinking for years, but in the last two years they have been on the up. I think that there is a real danger tha...

We weren't at Llandysul, but surely it would be wrong to limit div 1s (or any division for that matter) to just a few locations. Surely breadth of experience with different types of water is important; limiting everyone to dam release or artificial sites is not going to improve the standard. At lea...

Shame about the "no practice" for div 1 paddlers!

Still at least we can look at the course!

Thanks for break in warning

I think the main causes could be something more to do with the general changes in society resulting in less time available to run clubs and charge around the country with roof loads of kayaks, eg more families with two working parents more single parent families the "middle classes" ie those who ca...

We won't be there until about 2pm, but if you're still struggling at that time then we'll come and help on arrival!

Will the course be open to paddlers in the afternoon?

A large blue changing towel (goes over your head) went missing from HPP changing rooms this afternoon (31 Aug). It has a nametape on it "Forbes Lindesay". If anyone has packed it with their kit by mistake then we would really appreciate its return!

Thanks

Interestingly, my web filter is categorising the video as "violence" (yes I could switch the filter off!). I think it's pretty clever to recognise that water can be violent. Down to one gate and a side today, but boils and great fun judging by the smiles of paddlers. Perhaps we need a floating Shep...

I've had no responses to my suggestion for the following rule - if you think it's really bad then do tell!: "A run cannot count towards promotion if it includes a 50 penalty (though points can be gained for ranking purposes)" This would at least mean that a paddler being promoted has been able to g...

My sympathies Naomi,

Shame we couldn't have had all that rain for the div 1 at Shepperton. Never mind worrying about how to allocate points, get the right ages, permit on-line entries, work slalom software and tutti; what we really, really need is a way of controlling rainfall!
