I can't really see the reasoning at looking cost of water time for polo vs slalom; they are very different sports. OK they both involve water and boats - so does sailing, rowing, wwr, etc. It is just unreasonable to compare: - My understanding of polo is that a pool is used for a match for say a co...

For those of us that live south it's always 100s of miles to an event (except of course for Shepperton). Realistically though if you want to compete in any sport at National level then the chances are you are going to have to travel and the furth up the ladder you go the more travelling there will ...

I've sort of assumed that Dee was fairly obviously me (Dee Lindesay), at least to anyone that knows me, based on my postings. How many "Dees" have a son called Forbes and organise shepperton slaloms?.... talking of which...... Mainly I'm just too lazy to think of a synonym... Don't have a problem w...

Following on from previous thread - the newbie is not lopsided and will want to paddle both sides of the boat to ensure that he remains that way

Sorry we didn't make it, hope it didn't make too much of a dent in the canteen profits.

Hoping to come on the 16th though complete with an extra mouth to feed who is yet to experience kayaking.

Any chance of borrowing a boat (K1) and helmet please?

This idea of having a couple of special promotion races puzzles me - if I remember correctly we had one of those at the end of each season (highest ranked div 1 paddler obtaining promotion to prem) until last AGM at which point it was decided to end the practice. Sightly different rules I know, but...

More than one way, but....

LARGE(range,n) will give you the nth largest value in the range

eg LARGE(A1:A25, 2) will give you the 2nd largest value in the cells between A1 and A25

So LARGE(A1:A25,1)+LARGE(A1:A25,2) will give you the sum of the 2 largest values and so on.

All that will happen is that no-one will volunteer to judge in advance. So we will just be waiting to see who turns up on the day and won't be any better off.

Was your name mis-spelt in the year book last year
Were you down for the wrong club
Then let me know or the mistake will be repeated.

If you've moved house (or didn't receive your year book last year) then make sure you let me have your new address

Leaving things to discretion may not be ideal, but the current rules refer to straight line distances. The problem is that straight lines drawn on a map can cross mountain ranges and water with ease, not so kayak (or even canadian) ladan cars. Of course we could start using helicopters (tie a boat ...

[It annoys me when i enter races and the organiser puts DV on start list when i have stated senior, this is because of the date of birth on entry cards.] There is a simple way round this - don't put your date of birth on the card. No dob = senior by default Juniors must put their date of birth on t...

But apart from Shepperton and HPP everything is a more than 400 mile round trip for us. And please don't put another event in Scotland 10+ hours of driving each way is a bit much. With regards to making Shepperton a double - the main reason I don't put in for a double div 1/2 is that we get so many...
